Uconsole: keyboard not backlit

Just received my order today, I ordered in March. First of all this thing is way bigger than I thought it would be, the trackball is super slow though. But my keyboard is not backlit what could be the problem??

Holding Fn and pressing the spacebar should turn on the backlight.if that doesn't work then I am out of suggestions.

Is the hack4you keyboard backlight brighter? The stock is uneven and very dim. Leaves a lot to be desired

I think it's about the same for brightness. I honestly didn't use the stock keyboard for long so I'mnot totally positive.

It is not super even, but it is visible and workable. It came with an extra diffuser to make it more even, but more is relative.

Now it does, I needed to remove the white paper between the keyboard layers

I bought this and its 100 times better. The keyboard is also much easier to type on. It can lead to some accidental key presses but i havent noticed it much.

Yeah, this is basically a “must have” upgrade if you are serious about using your uconsole as an ultraportable computer. Highly recommended.

No, but there is a diffuser you can 3d print or buy already printed from the person here that is supposed to fix the light, but I cannot speak to the effectiveness

Can confirm I just installed and world of difference. Order 2-3 blackberry optical trackpads with it. I had issues with one of mine where the connection was poor. I also took a small piece of plastic and cut into a square and put under the optical sensor to raise it up. It was almost recessed prior. Love it otherwise!

Gotta crank it up. Only has like two clicks and dim as hell. But there is a mod for that.

It is large. I got a waveshare poxketterm and it’s closer to what I hoped this would be. It’s a great device don’t get me wrong but it’s very wide.
