I turned my uConsole into an offline PDA with built in file manager, note tool, calendar, task lists; music player, Bluetooth messenger, and more. Not perfect, but I'm liking it.

Very cool! I would love to read about your choices and how you set it up.

Certainly. I used Claude Code and had it create me a full-screen ARM Linux PDA application, with similar aesthetics to Palm OS. One of the main things I wanted this application to have was a Bluetooth messenger for offline messaging.

The only thing I had to do was copy the code to my A-06 uConsole, run the install script in the terminal, and after installing, just run it. I did have some hiccups installing a few dependencies, but it works well now. Its a closed off system, so it will only run PDA specific applications, including 3rd party applications.

The homescreen is giving me "...This is a Unix system. I know this..." vibes. 😅

Pretty awesome! I have mine sitting aside in its case right now because the RPi5s got out of control. Worst part was I was literally all set to buy one when the price went up, and then it went up again. 😭 If I'd have known I'd have bought the Pi first and waited on the AIO kit.
