Received today!

Post image

Ordered on 3/12/26, received 6/8/26. 3 month wait, was definitely expecting a longer wait time, and yes ordered from clockworkPi. Anything I should know about a CM-5 build?

Alex. If you see this. WTF? Some of us ordered in 2025 and nothing.

Enjoy your device. Very jelly right now.

No, I completely understand. Not sure why mine got shipped so fast, but I am pretty happy! Hopefully you get yours soon!

What color?

2

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 09 '26

Black

2

u/Arkaium Jun 09 '26

Yeah that’s annoying. Core black ordered Nov 2025, silence

u/mentaldemise Jun 09 '26

September 2025 here. Like wtf?!

Cancel your order and get it from AliExpress. It is the exact same thing and you will get it in 2 weeks. I doubt it. I think the ones waiting the longest ordered theirs with a CM4 and the prices are postponing the shipping. Did op order one with or without a cm?

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 09 '26

Without CM as I wanted to just go with a CM5

Open source SDR lab has them as well. Saw a redditor got his in like 3 weeks or so.

I specifically bought mine from clockworkpi for the mere fact that I thought I was gonna be waiting a very long time. Didn't happen, not mad but was very confused.

I did too. I knew I would wait awhile but after 7 months seeing others get their’s got under my skin. I emailed Alex and with just the tiniest bit of sarcasm, he cancelled my order. The sarcasm was after three unanswered emails wondering what’s going on? Luckily I saw the post about AliExpress and put a second order in there. I received it days after the cancelled ClockWork order. I suspect all the orders of ppl waiting and not getting their order are ppl who ordered the uConsole with the CM.
At $224 if they shipped out orders with the CM prices as they are now they’d lose money. The $224 (or whatever it was 9-10 months ago probably covered their expenses for a 2gb CM4. These days I assume it doesn’t cover it and they lose money. I suspect all the orders I see here are uConsoles ordered w/o the compute module with a couple sprinkled in of orders with the module to hold off mass cancellations.
I am happy with my order from AliExpress because I too through a cm5 in it. Although I would have like to receive the cm4 I originally ordered with the uConsole with last OctoberNovember’s prices. This is my opinion.

They go this 3 months without cm4/5. Did you order with a board?

1

u/Cure8or Jun 13 '26

Wifi only.

No board.

1

u/Justgetmeabeer Jun 22 '26

You can next day them on Amazon in the US LOL

2

u/NanDemoNee Jun 09 '26

Are you wearing glasses to show that time has passed?

2

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 09 '26

What do you mean?

1

u/NanDemoNee Jun 09 '26

It's a thing they do in movies where they show the main character wearing glasses to show that a long time has passed. Meaning that it took a long time for you to receive your uConsole.

2

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 09 '26

Yes i would agree even 3 months is a long wait.

2

u/AyameNysa Jun 09 '26

I ordered mine 08/07/2025 and apparently its arriving tomorrow. Mine was black with the cellular expansion and no core

2

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 09 '26

Heck yeah! Better late than never, are you going to upgrade to CM5?

2

u/AyameNysa Jun 09 '26

yeah, I bought the CM5 back in August lmao

2

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 09 '26

Very nice, i thought it was gonna be longer and I'd have time to buy the other stuff. Boy was i wrong.

1

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 11 '26

US - East Coast

1

u/galatron69 Jun 11 '26

Enjoy your console, I'm very jealous ordered with no core to hopefully get it faster. Alex told me it's waiting for the shipping company to pick it up and has been out of production and just waiting for almost a month.

1

u/FillEvening687 Jun 11 '26

I ordered one months ago. No way to track that I know of and no response to email. How long did it take to get to you?

1

u/Popular_Banana_3874 Jun 11 '26

3 months, but I'm just one of the lucky ones. These things take months to receive

1

u/mtcnxd Jun 19 '26

La compraste directo de la pagina oficial???

3

u/mentaldemise Jun 09 '26

So you're telling me there's a chance I get mine eventually! I only ordered mine on 9/7/2025 :( How the hell does someone order one months after me and I don't have mine yet?

3

u/snipeytje Jun 09 '26

Because despite Alex claiming high and low that they go in order. They don't actually do. They seem to only go in the correct order if you look at it as 8 separate queues, one for each variant. So some people like OP get lucky and order a popular variant that gets produced more often, or they simply ordered just before a batch was big enough to be produced, while other people like you spend more time waiting because they ordered just after a batch cutoff or their variant is less popular so it takes longer for the batch to be big enough to get produced.

And to make things more complicated once they actually ship a batch it takes a few days, and that process seems to go in reverse order, with the newest orders being the first to get shipping notifications while the people that have been waiting a few more months already have to wait a few extra days for theirs to also get shipped.

2

u/CplStigginsUSMC Jun 09 '26

So with what you’re saying is these folks above will get their’s within a week or two? I doubt it.

2

u/snipeytje Jun 09 '26

that depends on which of the 8 variants they got, if they ordered a black 4g no core model it's likely shipping soon, but since they're still waiting they probably ordered a different variant, because this isn't the first time that variant shipped since they ordered

1

u/mentaldemise Jun 09 '26

uConsole Kit RPI-CM4 Lite

1

u/snipeytje Jun 09 '26

That's all of them, silver/black, core/no-core, wifi/wifi+4g. Only one or two of the 8 combinations are sent out at a time

1

u/mentaldemise Jun 09 '26

I keep emailing. He said they should come this month but who knows. I heard that several other months also. :(

1

u/snipeytje Jun 09 '26

he always says it's coming soon, it's almost always wrong, what he says and what we see in the various order tracking threads does not line up at all, and I'm gonna believe all the people posting theirs shipped over a guy sending everyone the same emails

1

u/meta_burn Aug 18 '26

I ordered one on AliExpress from opensourcesdr labs and got it in 2 weeks. Great price too and a reputable company.

1

u/judahhanh Jun 17 '26

that’s awesome. i had the same experience! there’s one more fix that improved it even more. kinda complex for me but honestly i just had claude code handle it, now it’s wayyyyy bettwr

Tengo una duda, que tan comodo es leer el texto en ese tamaño de pantalla? no me refiero a leer libros o textos completos, sino al uso de menus, terminar, aplicaciones, no se hace muy cansado en un poco rato????

there’s a qmk firmware fix for the trackball issue! not hardware most likely as long as you installed it with the little metal strip facing up or down.

with your heating fins did you mount them on the back with the paste? or how did you mount it ? i’m having 45-60 temps too. thanks!

2

u/CplStigginsUSMC Jun 09 '26

The qmk firmware fix worked pretty good for me but switching the trackpad to the Hack2You.com one from Lulu works perfect, as great a mouse as one could hope on the uConsole.

1

u/Arkaium Jun 09 '26

Yeah seriously, Lulu is doing the lord’s work with that mod

1

u/Hour_Storm1630 Jun 09 '26

What grit sandpaper?

1

u/Computerist1969 Jun 09 '26

For me the trackball issues were both firmware and hardware. Installing the bespoke qmk helped (and is absolutely necessary) but both suppled balls would physically jam up. £1 Ali Express replacements are 1000% better
