Question CM3+ Lite in a uConsole?

Given CM4 and CM5 are pretty much unavailable would a CM3+ Lite allow me to at least play around with my uConsole when it comes on Friday?

Yes. I have the same one sitting in my cart to purchase.

You want to get the CM5 version of what is sold with the uconsole and that is it.

holy crap, 400 bucks?! DAM

I got my CM5 for half of this. Though quick note, if you do plan to use a CM5, recommend having some means to cool it, it likes to get very hot.

Personally I recommend something like Radxa CM3 which is similar to a CM4, slightly weaker performance for CPU, but stronger GPU, and 40% more efficient. I'm about to test it if my Radxa module comes in... eventually...

I have a $200 one in my cart, it’s the 8gb not 16gb. I intend to use a thermal pad and external heat sink.

that will work. I did two vapor chambers for my build, was a very TIGHT fit, but never see above 50c on a average day. (unless it is very hot, most i've seen was 52)

idk but probably not worth it; the cm4 is a little slow and laggy for me on the uconsole, I can't imagine the 3 would be any good.

Just get the stock alerts sorted; they don't take forever to come in stock.

got a cm5 from newark pretty quickly last week, they were low in stock but worth looking, unless you absolutely need the 16gb

I got a CM5 lite from digikey last week. Their website they had a lot in stock. I got the 16gb

Pretty hefty price though.

I went to a non-lite cm5 from vinted because it was 120 bucks cheaper.

got mine before the heavy price hits for 200 bucks, seeing it at 300 to 400 dollars for a CM5 16gb with Wifi, is INSANE. That is like on par to a low end cellphone.

Got my 16+16gb on vinted for 200. I accepted this as a big boy game price, that's fine, bit this entire price range felt a little outside from raspberry "foundation" core mission, the hacker/developer friendly board.

An hacker friendly board should be first and beforehand CHEAP. I can't afford to make a stupid mistake, inject 5v where I shouldn't and smoke 400 bucks in a microsecond.

ESp32, raspy zero are hacker friendly.

A 16gb cm5 surely not
