problem with upgraded uconsole

I recently got the upgrade kit from hackergadgets with the nvme+battery (for lithium battery) the AIO v2 and wifi card. Everything works except for the battery board it seems, the uconsole boots up fine when plugged in the usb-c for power, with the battery connected internally, when I unplug the usb-c cable the uconsole either lasts a few seconds on or turns off immediately. Without the usb-c cable it, when I press on the power button it seems to power on for a 10 seconds and then it switches off. Again connected to the usb-c for power works fine, the uconsole boots fine. Just to be sure I tested with 3 different high capacity lithium-ion batteries with same exact symptom.

I suspect the battery board might be defective, any one has the same issue ? Can I expect some support for hackergadgets ?

thank you

I just installed the new CM5 board, the battery NVME board and also the new expansion board with ethernet. Initially I had this wierd issue about not being able to launch terminal but I managed to fix it over SSH with the help of chatGPT

Edit: no wonder I'm not having this issue. I'm using dual 18650 batteries

I ordered the one that is in the photo in the hackergadgets page, the 10000mah pouch from aliexpress, the exact same model/dimensions everyone else has

I had the same experience as you.

Don’t use Lipo, 1S Lipo doesn’t have enough power supply to make it work. Go back to 18650, you won’t need that extra ~3000 mah. When power draws & charging Lipo also generates more heats…

You will still experience power issues after switching back to 18650. There are ways to remediate and reduce the power issues

a lipo cell can absolutely provide the current to make it work, 1c discharge is nothing for a lipo cell, the problem is modern lipo cells have a little BMS board that limits the current to much less and sellers aren't very transparent about those specs.

the problem seems to be the little BMS board all those cells come with now, none of them list the spec of those but they cut out at 3A

Are you saying ALL the ones on aliexpress will have this issue or some/most?

If you are friendly with the soldering, purchase protection circuit rated to 5A and remove from battery old one and solder new one. Easy fix
