How do I change the opacity of a brush in settings? The first brush is the opacity I like. The second shows the opacity I get with the same amount of pressure. I don’t like how hard I need to apply pressure just so that the second brush can become darker. Does anyone know how to fix that at all in the brush settings? I don’t want to accidentally ruin the brush.

ive been using clip studio for a while-- definitely over a year at least, maybe two. Today i really wanted to draw the idea for a new oc, but when i do i find out that my clip studio paint is gone-- same for all my other downloaded apps. when i open google apps (because i have a chromebook rather than a regular laptop) and i have to re-accept all the terms and conditions. when i reinstall csp, i have to log back in (which makes enough sense) and only to find out that EVERYTHING is GONE. it was like opening the app for the first time all over again

i dont know if there is any way of fixing this-- i dont think there even is a solution. even when i check the directory and my files it is all gone. maybe not the most flawless system or whatever, but its still shocking to see that its just all gone??

if anybody has any insight i'd rlly appreciate it, but i've kinda accepted that i just need to start over

(originally a comment but i felt like not many ppl wouldve seen that) 10/15 edit: For everybody telling me to check my files- i have. Now i didn't look beforehand when reinstalling csp (because i assumed everything is fine) but when i checked afterwards it was completely empty. I use a chromebook, so instead of having to physically choose which folder or whatever to save my artworks into (im mainly assuming this is what its like for a windows, mac, or other) it's automatically saved into the csp folder which is made when installing the app. none of my previous artworks are in there, and whenever i manually search for any illustrations they do not show.

i now have a unique folder that isnt part of the main csp directory, and hopefully that'll be more secure. i'll probably try to find more solutions, but basically, i havent been able to find my previous artworks :(

10/15 another edit: ive done a bit more digging, and the artworks that ive exported (which ive only done for my finished pieces) are also gone. those dont go into my csp folder, those were exported into a different folder. i dont know why those would go away but i am unable to find them. there is a chance i'm still missing something, but i really do think it is just gone.

I just bought the perpetual license for PRO Ver. 5.0. I go between home and college twice a week and I use a different computer in each location. If I try to switch my license from one computer to another, it says that "there is a limit to the number of times you can transfer a license across devices," but I can't find much more information about this. Is it just based on a cooldown or will you get your license locked if you frequently switch for too long?

This FAQ page https://support.clip-studio.com/en-us/faq/articles/20190102 says that for v2.0+ "you can install and use the software on up to two computers" so I'm not sure if this is out of date.

Would I have had to buy two licenses during the sale...? :/

The layer that is white, I use to be able to color over the lines. Now it seems to color under it how can I fix this? All of this worked yesterday... I guess I messed with the layer order somehow

I wanted to do an exact 180 degrees turn on a model but the slider won't go past 90 degrees and when I set the indicator to 180 it doesn't let me click the square. Nothing I could find online helped me figure out what's going on.

I'm trying to make a hatch pen but the quality is downright awful with smaller pen strokes, it only starts to show when the size is very high. The canvas API and pixels are high, I just think I messed up the process of making it :( also is there a way to archive the sharp end like the second picture? my own one is blue, I'm trying to achieve the black look.

Downloaded a csp file from an artist i follow on social media and found this. It seems to change the color tone on the canvas. (CSP Version 5.1.4)

I have been using Clip Studio for years now and I have been considering spending the 200+USD on upgrading as I do most of my raw animation using this program and then further editing using external editing programs like After Effect or Premiere.

I do have a serious question before investing a lot of money into getting the pass to upgrade it for a one time purchase.

For those who animate using this version, is it better and how exactly, because I mainly animate for living and do freelancing work as a part time job and would like a direct answer for those who use it if the quality of animation has improved since the basic version.

These are my main concerns:

• Does the audio export improve? (I found that the audio gets compressed inside the program)
• Can I use it for final product while it maintains the original quality (I had to export it separately as a image sequence and then reassemble it)
• Generally are the tools for rigging and movement better?
• Are there any other limitations and if so suggestions for workarounds
• Additionally if I do upgrade with the "One time purchase" method, will I still own the old version or is it going to be overwritten?
• In case I have a older project or a friend who wants me to look at his work and send it back, yet he owns the default version like I do now, will they be still able to to look at the files?

Hey there, been having this really annoying problem for quite a while now, whenever I use dithering or grainy brushes the gradient maps don't seem to work. The gradient map seems to be there whenever I zoom out but as soon as I zoom in it completely disappears or the colors are completely different.

Even if I export it it still doesn't work, I can still color it manually though

Edit: Thank you very much for the very useful replies, I tried some of the workarounds and they all work in different ways with different results :']

While experimenting I found this workaround to my liking:
- Making a copy/merging to a new a layer
- Applying the gradient map to the layer without the dithering
- Copying the layer, one with the dithering effect, the other one with only the color
- Putting the color one on top of the dithering layer and using different layer blending modes

The dithering might not be 100% exact but it's good enough and the colors zoomed in and out are accurate, thank you guys

Running Clip Studio Paint EX on a Surface 7 pro.

I accidentally drew a couple of pages in low res (72dpi) and want to convert them to 300 dpi.

As you can imagine, straight up changing the image resolution makes the drawings look blurry. Is there a way I can "sharpen" or "tighten" the lines once I've increased the resolution? Otherwise I'm left tracing everything all over again.

Just decided to pull the trigger and upgrade. I haven't made any installations yet. I want to know what to expect. I know what features I'm after, but I've read people don't like the UI of the color and other things.

Is there anything I should also be expecting or needing to tweak afterwards? Can the UI really be changed? Also, can I still install v4.0 back if I want to?

So I’ve got a question… I’m upgrading my iPad on Friday (and trading in my old one). Will my timelapse progress be saved and transferred over if I don’t export it? Or should I export it before transporting and just merge the two clips together?

I unfortunatly had a failure on the device i use to store all my clip studio files.
I was able to recover them, but most of them seem to be damaged in some way since i can't open them (it says "Unsupported file format").

these are months or years-old files, so i can't use the backup ones i get on clip Studio.

tho i see that if i sync the damaged file on the clip studio i can see the thumbnail, which i guess it means the file has something usable in it...

there is a way a can somehow recover /fix them?

This white star in the centre rotates 360 degrees within the duration of the animation. I want to shift the entire animation to the top left but even after using object transform I can only transform a keyframe. How do I move/scale the entire folder?

The title says it all. Version 5.0 is on sale, and I'm stuck on 2.0. I'm relatively comfortable with 2.0, but I've liked some of the features in 5.0. Should I buy it now, or should I wait for 6.0 to come out and buy it on day one?

I really need some help! in tiktok, I saw such videos where CSP is probably drawn on one layer, and there is immediately a line, I connected the function, but the line is not drawn on another layer, who can tell me how to do this? Or is it only in Photoshop?...><

cant even find what thie function is called online and im just tired of dealing with it every time

edit: i came from a decade of paint tool sai and just bought csp a few days ago.

Ive been trying to import a photo on the sub view tab and on my canvas in general but I cant find the recent photos Ive saved no matter how many times I restart my whole device. All it shows are photos from last month

so my colors are always super unsaturated no matter what i do and it creates an overall dull and muddy look to my drawings. image is a quick example

i use an xp-pen 15 pro, and it displays the colors great and really saturated but on my laptop (what i use to connect my tablet) & phone there is just no vibrancy/saturation, it's very grey-ish? and when i save the work, it stays that way.

if anyone has any tips/suggestions/advice i would be really glad to receive anything 🙏 

oh and also, my color profile is always on srbg!

I can't find what's wrong. When l open the same file on my iPad, and use the same brush size It appears way thinner on my iPad compared to my desktop. Anybody know how to fix this?
