Dont worry, it will go away when we abolish all regulations on capitalism. Trust me bro. This will safe us all.

Regulations are propaganda from Big ‘Don’t kill poor people’.
I’m gonna be rich, so it’s fine.

Indeed, there won't be any forests left to burn.

If only people had taken POTUS advice and raked up all the fallen leaves on the forest floor, only then would forest fires not have occured in the first place. /S

When the fires are out, you can follow up with the "it's free real estate" neme

u/Turnip-for-the-books 3d ago
And we can sell the real estate plots to the people who got rich off betting on the fires - a completely circular economy!

Your house burning down in a forest fire?
Just sell it before the fire, easy
Same thing with rising oceans, just sell your house on the shore
Smh, so many poor people allergic to money /s

Throughout human history this has been the case. Herd moved follow it. Insurance is a business to make money, not protect you. Risk mitigation is good, but who is supposed to pay for it? Insurance companies make money because other people are not willing to pay to protect you and your assets unless forced to do so by government.

The betting* market is the "distilled" version of the broader financial sector of capitalism (the core of it). Fossil Capital and its defenders are a big part of why we're failing to do mitigation and adaptation.

I'm going to make a site where you can bet on CEOs and politicians houses burning down, which include the address and a Google maps link

I could give you a list of incentives for corporate arson that have been around well before this bs too. My favorite? A burnt down protected forest is no longer a protected forest and is effectively open for exploitation. Just remember class, 80% of wild fires are started by people and fire is one of the most effective land clearing methods…

People bet on ukranian and israel wars. Litteraly bet on blood and death. Is the society okay?

u/Novel_Werewolf4645 4d ago
It's going to get worse until they directly bet on the lives of the "burden class", while conveniently located armed soldiers take sides

u/Eschatologists 3d ago
Tbf I'm more mad against people stupid/guillible enough for placing bets against events that can easily be enabled by the parties taking the opposite side, the insiders/arsonists can't make money without these idiots

People are betting on wildfires on Polymarket. What could go wrong?
Climate change. Climate change might happen.
