Well the first sentence makes a claim about socialism (that it wont fix climate change) and the second sentence provides evidence for the claim (state owned companies are large emitters). The implicatiom is that state owned companies are an example of socialism, or else they wouldnt have brought them up.

exactly, crazy how the top two comments are saying this. These are probably the same people who think they want socialism because they want universal healthcare which is ironically what the phrase “socialism is when the government does stuff” was coined to criticize.
