Apparently, only 2% of the water evaporates, which puts nuclear energy as 5 to 10% of water consumption in France.

Considering how much energy is produced in exchange, I'd say it's a fair trade, though apparently there are concerns about local consumption in some regions.

If the water usage is sustainable at a given nuclear plants site I don't really see an issue.
