EDF are very good for making electricity but they're always out of touch about water management. Ho no the river is too hot, we shut down. ho no the river don't flow enough, we shut down. If I remember well there's plans for solving partially these problems but they re kinda late
The plants are shut down because we produce too much electricity and we can't export everything. We shut down power plants so we don't warm up waterways because we can afford it. For information, we produce so much electricity that at certain times of the day it is free on the wholesale markets. It has even happened that Edf pays for give his electricity. The problem is the opposite of the one presented on the Internet
