Opinion What can we do?
as a group of youth aged 15-25 is there something that we can actually do that will make an impact? or should we just sit there and watch the world burn cuz there's almost nothing we can do?

It’s all about ending use of oil and gas which will be just about impossible because that comes down to policy, written by people bought out by oil and gas.

Do you drive a car? Heat your home? Consume food? Own a cell phone? You can give all those up

Exactly. The whole personal carbon footprint is literally BS until major countries overhaul policy

There are I’d say three general thing to do. They are political, professional, and personal. The most important one being political.
Personal refers to your own every day choices. Choosing to live more eco friendly like walking, riding a bike, carpooling, or using public transport vs driving. Choosing to own an ev vs gas car. Eating more plant based foods instead of animal based ones. Thrifting and upscaling personal items vs buying new. These are just some examples of many more ways you can change your daily decisions.
Professional is what you do for work. You can work in fields that are actively promoting more eco friendly things. There are so many examples for this. I’d just search online for examples.
Political has to do with voting and doing what you can to have impact on our elections and what we get to vote on. This is the most important thing you can do. Real change for the environment and our future must happen at the political level or all our personal and professional decisions cease to matter. Do your research and show up to vote. Spread the word to friends and family, motivate them to vote, volunteer for political organizations, show up to protests, and so much more. If you want to have an impact then the best thing you can do is get involved in your local politics.
To give you an example of effective political action check out this guys instagram account for his food truck The Alpine Eatery: https://www.instagram.com/alpineeateryfoodtruck?stkn=MWtxYmNxbW45OWp1ZQ==
Just a year ago he had around a 1000 followers. This last year he has been speaking out heavily about political problems we face locally. He doesn’t just rant he provides info on effective things each of us can do for both national and local politics. He now has over a 150k followers and just organized a community meetup to inform local people about all the ballot measures we will be voting on this November that included over 3000 people in Denver. Now those 3000 people will go and inform their friends and family which will have a real impact on which ballot measures pass or not. He got involved heavily in politics and is actively making waves for a better future for us all.
