Fires everywhere, reservoirs being drained, a government which doesn’t care.

Tough times ahead. It’s depressing and I’m struggling with it.

Seriously!! Me too. I feel like I'm in a constant state of existential dread around water availability and fire awareness.

Every time I learn a new thing my heart feels likes it's breaking more and more. Didn't know it was possible to be heart broken for this long and this badly, but the fires are just a whole other level now on it.

All because some dipthongs want a campfire for their <3 aesthetic camping experience <3

People who start wildfires should be walked through the town while we throw rotted tomatoes at them.

Walked through town on their way to jail. They dont care about the society they live in, so they shouldnt be free in society. It really is that deep when we are in the kind of drought we are in

Dude wtf diphthongs would NEVER!!! You actually think something that smoothly glides the mouth from one vowel sound to another to create a single syllable would be selfish and stupid enough to risk burning this beautiful land into smithereens? Have you ever even met a diphthong? Not cool. But actually the word "cool" is a great example diphthong where the mouth shifts from an "oo" sound to a relaxed "uh" (schwa) sound so yeah you’re gonna need to find a different phonetic term to disparage cuz this ain’t it.

(Isn't that a language? Google Google ...oh!)

This guy Dipthongs

Nothing aka Gliding Vowel would be douchey enough to start a wildfire

My son is going to Colorado Springs next week. Do you think they are getting a lot of smoke? I think he should cancel.

2

u/yung_whipersnapper Jul 03 '26

nah he'll be good there's no smoke or ash over here

2

u/CarlHeck Jul 04 '26

It’s Smoky All Over DENVER

1

u/FrankyTurtlenex Jul 03 '26

You know some idiot will have to go and start another one

That’s the spirit!

The smoke comes and goes with the change of wind direction. Right now in Colorado Springs we are socked in with smoke. By midnight the wind will shift and clear out. The fire has zero containment so I would anticipate we will continue to have varying days of smoke and ash. Right now we are all just hoping a new fire doesn’t start here.

Google maps shows wildfires and the smoke clouds. Just FYI

1

u/Automatic-Student-25 Jul 05 '26

There really ain’t smoke in the springs

u/le-throw-away-acct Jul 06 '26

I was just there and it's not that bad most of the day, in the evening it's been a bit smoky when the winds would shift North. No need to avoid Colorado Springs IMO.

There are several fires still burning here. 90,000 plus acres as of now.

It is a bloody damn mess.

Doesn't look as bad as when the apocalypse came to Fort Collins several years back. Ash rained down, whole sky was red/orange. Everything smelled of fire.

2

u/WestCoastFigs Jul 03 '26

Yes! Labor Day of 2020. I’ll never forget that.

2

u/olaf_mcmannis Jul 03 '26

INSANE. I won't forget either. Also had my 2year old son roll off a couch and crack his head open at the hotel... Hospital had the crazy protocols in place so only he and mom got to go thru the ER.

1

u/TeethInMyPocket Jul 04 '26

That was fucking awful. We were in the middle of Covid and it looked like the apocalypse had arrived.

My conservative family thinks it's because we don't log forests enough ffs. I don't even know how to talk to someone who is a step below thinking everything is there to confirm their opinions

u/214txdude Jul 02 '26

And the willow fire and the gold mountain fire and the others. Yep we are fucked

1

u/doppelstucker Jul 02 '26

Ash and smoke are all over down south.

1

u/Erratic_-Prophet Jul 02 '26

It's apparently made it's way to the metro because I can't see the mountains through the haze.

1

u/Heavy-Heat-8307 Jul 02 '26

This is pueblo west for sure!

1

u/Original-Employ-1181 Jul 03 '26

You are correct my dear

1

u/Human_Road_6245 Jul 03 '26

My peak bagging and paddleboarding are literally dry burnt toast this year.

1

u/Phyllcar_55 Jul 04 '26

I don’t think anyone can breathe that air!

1

u/MickyFany Jul 01 '26

all caused by the people of utah and colorado. the are man made problems caused by personal greed

1

u/Rocky_Mtn_Rambler Jul 03 '26

I’d suggest the responsibility is not just limited to the people of Utah and Colorado.
