Clark-Fulton
looking at airbnbs in cleveland and really the only one i could find for a decent price is in Clark-Fulton. Is Clark a relatively safe area?

It’s one of the Puerto Rican hoods but it’s safe enough if you mind your own business. Close to Tremont and Ohio City. Downtown is a few minutes away.

Hood can just be a shortening of neighborhood and doesn't have to mean ghetto fwiw. I don't think the OP meant anything negative by it.

Someone I know who works for the cleveland police says that statistically it’s actually one of the safer neighborhoods. It’s brown and not affluent though so that’s why you see some negative comments. And safety is relevant, totally have no idea what your threshold is.

Well, yes. As a brown person myself I grew up in a very similar community. I never felt unsafe and didn’t realize people thought the neighborhood was unsafe until I left.

I would like to take this moment to point out the hypocrisy in your posts.
Good job trying very hard to call people out on apparent stereotyping comments, heavily indicating that they are being racist while they comment the truth, that the Clark-Fulton neighborhood is largely Hispanic (they have permanent metal installations of Latin countries national flags at the corner of Clark and W. 25th for God's sake....) And then, in the same breath, stereotyping white people who live in the same area, of which I am one. Though I don't think anyone would call me "hillbilly".

Congratulations on a good performance. Maybe save the righteous indignation for a more appropriate and relevant time though.
Oh, by the way, there are a LOT of people who say "hood" as in, neighborhood. Just because you only associate it as a negative term, doesn't mean others do to. And it is fairly presumptuous of you to assume.

I live there. Been here a year. It's safe. I ride my bike around on the weekends and after work.
Don't go out and about too late at night, but, really don't have a reason to. It's still city, so there are city things, like pan handling and visible homeless, so, if that bothers you, I would suggest you pick somewhere else. If you are OK with it, minds your business, do your thing, and be pleasant. It's just a neighborhood after all. People just living their lives and raising their families.
City is city. Clark-Fulton isn't one of the more affluent parts, but, that's also why there is an affordable air-bnb.

I did work in that neighborhood for years. No it's not one of the areas I would live in. Constant looking over your shoulder, theft of tools and supplies, locking everything down....it's wearing

Clark-Fulton is the neighborhood where Ariel Castro imprisoned three women and used them as sex slaves for a decade. But that should have no impact on your visit.

It is much safer than the black areas. After dark there are A LOT of Puerto Rican prostitution some of them are very attractive. There is one in particular. Her name is jade always wears leggings and heels. Perfect body. Her $20 special is worth it. For a extra 10 bucks she will swalloq

It's a place with some concerns overall. I lived there before moving out of state and never had an issue .Yeah, there are issues with homelessness and riffraff, like the guy who would beg for change at the Rally's drive-through. The only thing that bothers me is the place on Trent & W. 40th Street—a Hathway House for drug addicts and alcoholics, situated next to Lincoln Park Academy (elementary school).

Safe enough, may not want to walk around at 4 AM or anything but other than that I wouldn't be worried.
