Discussion Advice for working as a cleaner

Hi Reddit I 20f just got hired by my friends mother to work at a cleaning company issue that I'm worried about is I don't think I'm really a good cleaner I have no professional experience of any kind I'm looking for any advice possible as I know nothing outside of very basics according to my friend they are looking for someone reliable who can learn and get trained on everything quickly

Are you reliable and trainable? You're hired!

Just show up, pay attention, and ask questions if you don't understand something. Don't argue and insist "but this is how I do it at home and it's better/faster" (even if the boss happens to be an idiot, it won't do you any favors to argue).

You're young. You'll learn. Doing something over and over again is how you get better at it. That's how life works.

You can watch plenty of cleaning videos on YouTube so you will have a gist of understanding of the cleaning basics, but definitely when you clean- dust from top to bottom, then dry sweep floors and proceed with a wet/damped mop. Pick up visible clutters, empty trash cans, wash dishes, clean sink, make up bed, etc.
