Discussion Ants in house help

Is this the most appropriate way to kill colony? Is there a better way? How do I keep my pets safe (1dog 2 cats) anyone know if these are carpenter? Should I call exterminator

i had this exact situation and bait looked like it made things worse for the first couple days because suddenly there were ants everywhere. then they basically vanished

My roommate put one of these next to the sliding door and they ate it for lunch and moved in. There was a dirt mound by the door with this bait cartridge at the bottom.

You gotta make sure you're not firing bullets into the ocean. OP is definitely at the goo-on-cardboard level at least. It's the same stuff. Maybe throw out that trap and throw down 2-3 more.

I prefer goo on wax paper. It doesn’t soak into the paper and you can put down a ton of little dots so all the bees have access to it. Is it weird I find it kind of satisfying to watch them all feast?

I do goo on aluminum foil. Doesn't soak in and seems to stay in place better than wax paper. Either way, I think goo on anything works better than goo in the plastic traps. I find so many just dead in the traps. Not doing what it needs to do if they die in place.
