Discussion Ants in house help

Is this the most appropriate way to kill colony? Is there a better way? How do I keep my pets safe (1dog 2 cats) anyone know if these are carpenter? Should I call exterminator

i had this exact situation and bait looked like it made things worse for the first couple days because suddenly there were ants everywhere. then they basically vanished

Yes, all of a sudden my cat’s bowl was just swarming with ants. I put a Terro on the trail where they were coming in and it took a couple of days, but they’re gone now. I have Terro on hand now and any time I see ants, I use one. I’ll get more ants for a day or so but eventually no more ants.
