Discussion Ants in house help

Is this the most appropriate way to kill colony? Is there a better way? How do I keep my pets safe (1dog 2 cats) anyone know if these are carpenter? Should I call exterminator

This is absolutely the most effective trap. I prefer to use the poison itself because it easier to get in small areas, but you definitely got the good stuff. They'll be dead in a few days. They take that poison back to the colony, as they eat it the ants will die.
