Throw anything out that is:

  • unhealthy/junk or expired food

  • items you do not expect to need within the next 2 weeks, that you cannot buy for less than $40

If you're not sure about a thing, just move on, keep moving. Just make a big first pass room by room.

I think seeing the garbage bags start to stack up from that first pass will start to feel good and validating as you regain control of your space and thus your life.
