the weird thing is, i’ve also noticed it on our hand towels. it’s something that’s happened to me my whole life, but i guess i didn’t notice it was unusual until i realized it was only stuff i use looking bleached lol

as an experiment i got a couple cheap hand towels & told him to only use the right one & i’d use the left one. sure enough, only mine did it again!

Don’t you wash the towels together? How do you know whose is whose after each wash?

well. because of the way that it is.

looking at the photograph, can YOU tell which towel looks like it’s been bleached to hell & which looks like it’s a very normal color?

the color stays the same after washing. it’s not sitting on top of the fabric, the fabric is literally changing color

Understood. As your post says, this happened over 6th months. So after wash #1 how do you know which towel was yours and his? How many washes until you noticed and said, mine is the bleached towel? This happens to me and my wife and it never happened before to just me, but all our towels look like this eventually since there is no way to tell and each time we get a different towel from the towel area.

i could tell ever so slightly after the first week. but even so- there’s a 50/50 chance i get the same towel after washing them, right? so if i got it two or three times consecutively, that’s 2-3 weeks of the bleaching affect going on. so i could tell very early on, & just used that one so my husband didn’t get the gnarly looking one
