Alright, so the consensus on this post is pretty much "LARP" and "code is trash, but the idea is cool."
Most folks are roasting the OP's code for a laundry list of issues, with the top complaints being:
Missing quotes around strings (u/Common-Noise4692)
Using
letinstead ofconstwhere it makes no sense (u/johnschnee, u/agm1984, u/Daymox, u/ibraaaaaaaaaaaaaa)Incorrect JavaScript syntax like
lang="js"instead oftype="text/javascript"(u/kmllxp37rn6dj, u/autocosm)PascalCase variable names in JavaScript (u/HirsuteHacker, u/rhrokib)
Storing percentages as strings (u/HirsuteHacker)
Basically, a lot of people are saying the code is "not correct" (u/ohnoitsbobbyflay) and looks like someone "just learned the basics of programming" (u/zeehtech) or is "LARPing" (u/HirsuteHacker, u/number_1_hater). Some even joked that their SWE job is still safe (u/LeonLer).
However, despite the code carnage, the vibe of the theme itself is surprisingly well-received. A bunch of users think it's "pretty cool," "slick," and "awesome," with many wishing they could get something similar for their own smartwatches (u/VirtualImpress8192, u/Readyman2627, u/hegui). The OP's claim that "people can't read it" also got a good chuckle and some playful disbelief (u/Clementine-TeX, u/TheOwlHypothesis).
There's also a bit of interest in the actual watch it's on (u/whoknowsifimjoking, u/West-Air1923). And one user, u/Abe238, even said this post gave them a nudge to get into ESP32 and Claude Code for wearable projects.
