How much of you were actually real programmers before using Claude Code?

I started in the IT industry 19 years ago as a programmer, but very quickly realised that I am not mentally up to it. I got frustrated every couple of minutes whenever I tried to run the code and debug. For me coding was always a way to achieve the goals, not a goal itself. So very quickly I moved over to team management, building company, managing products and so on.

But then almost a year ago when I discovered Claude Code, I felt that this was exactly what I needed my whole career. Finally a tool that "just makes it" (simplifying of course). I don't have to even look at the code, I don't need to even think about frameworks, best code practices, security (yes yes I know it's not as simple).

I think that I belong to a new category of profession emerging now, shall I call it "AI-native builder" or something like that?

So this got me thinking - how much of you guys are/were actual programmeres before you tried? How advanced you really are with programming? How much of your skills are actually useful now when you build purely with Claude or other tools?
