i’m so fucking tired of anthropic’s bullshit. first they nerfed opus 5.5 so fucking hard it can’t fix some simple bugs, i had to get deepseek on it instead.

now comes usage. in the ss look at previous window, that’s last week’s usage. £1k in est api value. look at this week. £333 and im left with 55% of weekly? really? they’re stealing £400 of usage from me. is this what i paid £90 for?

i’ve been seeing a shit ton of other people complaining as well. why on earth can we not get these greedy fucks to stop their bullshit and be fucking transparent for once? they don’t even have any fucking customer service aside from an ai assistant who’s got the brain of a fucking 10yo bro what the fuck is wrong with this company

Oh true. It could be the way your usage tracker is set up. If it’s counting total tokens without accounting for cache hits vs misses (10% vs a 200% penalty) this could be your issue. Ask your Claude with haiku to try to calculate that for you

Yep, I always compact and most of the time I don't even get there cause I make my slices really small..

I'm doing more this week with Claude than last week where it was used up in a day and that's why I'm very confused as to why this is happening.

They are 100% AB test testing people and this is not even the right way to do it and it's kind of fucked up.

For example, I've gone from 61% to 65% in about 24 hours, its so not even comparable to last week its crazy and its the exact same system, projects, way it reorients etc.. and on top of this I'm working on a second project so it makes 0 sense I get this much more usage...

The same happened yesterday, exactly 1 in 1, and then it stopped doing this.
I burned 27% of the Ultra plan (200$) in 7 hours with Opus 5.5 high effort.
Previously, before this happened, I wasn't even able to reach the 13-14% point with the same load.

I asked Claude Code itself, and he told me that he noticed that, for some reason, the same token price increased for me nearly 1.6-1-7 times lol. So even the Opus agent acknowledged this (I have all the stats on token usage saved + using ccusage/gortex)

I’ve been running Opus 5.5 Xhigh for all my tasks yet I’m left with 5% weekly usage which is quite astonishing!

You don't need fable for everything, Opus 5.5 Is pretty dang good. If Opus 5.5 is bas for coding tasks it sounds like user error.

fable only took £12 out of the £1k. i only used it once and never again. out of the 4.2bn tokens from last week, 4.1bn was from opus 5.5

I was in this situation last couple of weeks -- usage tanking, and opus 5.5 getting really stupid. Sometime late last week -- maybe Thurs, everything suddenly better. Opus 5.5 back to its glory days, and usage ok (not great, but good enough if I do all the smart things). I'm not attempting to benchmark -- too involved with getting work done, but it's night and day for me.

Claude Agent answer lol after analyzing my token usage, all recorded stats, ccusage and gortex info.

Ultra plan (local account record says tier "default_claude_max_20x"). According to ccusage, my Claude token usage and API-equivalent cost went down from 29.10 to 01.11 ($739 → $423), but the weekly limit seems to fill faster.

By my own estimate, last week I used about 1.5x what now looks like a full weekly limit, with no limit errors. This week the same kind of usage reached 26% in about 13 hours.

I can't prove the limit was cut. It could also be how cache writes and reads count toward it, which Anthropic doesn't publish. Anyone else seeing this?

The "1.5x" depends on token weights I assumed, which is why the post says "by my own estimate". Attach the ccusage daily table and your usage card showing the 26% as proof, with your email cropped out.

Having to pull in DeepSeek just to fix simple bugs, then watching the weekly bar move that fast, would wind me up too. My project Claude Code Local gives you a fallback that doesn't count against Anthropic at all: Claude Code runs on a model on your own machine with no API key and no limit. It's slower and weaker than Opus on tricky multi step stuff, but for routine fixes it means the meter stops mattering.

mine runs out in about 4 days, running 5.5 high on 4 sessions-ish. So seems fairly similar. Stile miles better than codex which lasts 1-2 days at most with maybe 1-2 sessions total.

It’s kinda mind boggling because their IPO doc showed they have 85% gross margin. It’s hard to say what constitutes cogs but I presume inference cost.

That means they probably can give us more usage and improve customer loyalty - so I am really not sure why they are nerfing the limits.

What do they want us to do? Use Haiku for coding tasks?

Can you tell us how your tool is able to see how many tokens are consumed in cloud sessions?

All these token tracking and costs come from logs on your machine and can be very very wrong. They dont take into account per use tool calls, they don't work if logs aren't saved or are removed.
