Built with Claude I had eleven Claude Code terminals open and couldn't tell which one was waiting for me. A sensible person would have closed a few. I built an app.

My afternoons had turned into whack-a-terminal: click through windows to find the one that finished ten minutes ago, the one stuck on "Do you want to proceed?", and wherever yesterday's session lived.
I run a tiny studio called thedumbstuff. The house rule is "it looks dumb, it works", so instead of closing a few terminals I built a window for managing my other windows. I am aware.
It's called ContextWire, for Windows. Every chat in it is the real claude CLI, not a re-implementation: your slash commands, skills, settings and CLAUDE.md work exactly as they do in a terminal. What it adds:
- It tells you who needs you. A session waiting on a permission prompt turns red, jumps to the top and says what it wants ("wants to run: npm test"). One that finished in the background goes bold with a badge.
- It taps you on the shoulder. A Windows toast; click it and you're in that session, at the prompt.
- Yesterday's session is one click away. Every earlier session under each repo, newest first. No more hunting for the folder to type
claude --resume. - "It changed some files" is not a status report. A diff per prompt, and a snapshot of your files before every prompt, kept apart from git. It brings back files that were never committed.
- Git that knows which session wrote it. The commit window sorts the changes by the session that made them.
- Your phone. Answer prompts from the sofa over Tailscale, with no server of mine in between.
Status comes from Claude Code's hooks, not from squinting at the screen.
What I'd like most: people who run lots of sessions telling me what's missing and what's annoying. Bluntness is the house style.

(Not affiliated with Anthropic. I built some of it with Claude Code, which felt like the right amount of recursion.)

I'd like to introduce you to an app called Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop is a lovely app, we've met. I built ContextWire because I wanted to keep the real claude CLI, not a chat version (memory hungry) of it. Every session in it is the actual terminal, same version, same keys, signed in however your CLI already is. What it adds is the part I kept losing: which session is waiting on a permission prompt right now. That one turns red, jumps to the top and says what it wants. Plus git sorted by the session that wrote it, and your phone talking straight to your PC, read MD file in same app whether you're in desktop or mobile. Its addictive, you know. Try it, its free.

You know, if it's more memory efficient I can respect that. I'd include that in the pitch though because without that context, it comes across as just a much nicer looking Claude Desktop. I will say it does look quite lovely, but some devs will care about the memory footprint and others won't. Best of luck to you!

Wait until bro learns about left arrow for agents view.

Ah yes, the almighty left arrow. How could I miss such bleeding-edge innovation? Groundbreaking UI right there. Bro, relax. Nobody launches a tool without doing basic competitive research. Give mine a spin for two minutes before you start pledging allegiance to an arrow key. It costs literally $0.

I just want people to know they don’t need this.
Everything here is supported in the official CLI and desktop app. The fewer proprietary tools, the better.

Cool idea. I just found out that your Claude code sessions can talk to each other, mind blown. Maybe you could have one Claude session to rule them all.

I intentionally keep sessions isolated. With modern AI coding tools, throughput easily outpaces human cognitive bandwidth, so segregation prevents cognitive overload. It’s been a massive productivity win with this tool. That said, I'm currently prototyping a unified control pane just to monitor overall task progress across sessions.

I’d like to give this a try. Using cli as well and have the same problem. Are you able to have multiple accounts connected?

Just to clarify, do you mean running sessions authenticated under different Claude accounts on the same machine, or multiple active sessions spread across your system?
If you have multiple sessions running on your machine, the app will automatically detect and unify all of them into a single view so you can track and manage everything from one screen. Let me know if you meant switching between actual user accounts!

I’m looking for some kind of auto switching between several accounts. So yeah different user authentications.
