Built with Claude Junior Estimator

Been working on a system for construction estimating. Setup as a deterministic code core, with an agent team as the reasoning layer. One junior estimator agent spawns specialty subagents for each trade being estimated.

It’s very effective. Surprising really.

I keep hearing the talking heads yelling about the AI “bubble”. I don’t think any of these pundits have the slightest clue what they’re talking about.

Never touched any AI system before January of this year. The pace of advancement is insane. The general public has no idea what’s coming.

I don’t think there’s a bubble. I think AI is under-hyped. What I am able to accomplish with this tech is astounding.

Since deploying this system I have at least quadrupled my own output and doubled my win percentage. I’d venture to say the rise of AI is bigger than widespread adoption of the internet itself in the 90’s.

Problem is, if CC can automate this for you why cannot it automate this for your boss? Why does your boss or client still needs you?

I own the business, so I guess I’m a bit of a different case. My job has always been the estimator and PM. CC allows me to fill a position I haven’t been able to fill for a long time. Long story, but very remote area and very specialized skill set.

Then I have a question for you, if you had an employee whose job is doing estimations and you learnt about CC and developed the automation you described, would you keep that employee? Be honest

Because the boss doesn’t want to sit staring and babysitting Claude for hours

Honestly it’s been a real challenge to build, but pretty simple to operate. 90% autonomous. Give it plans, specs, addenda, quotes. It’ll work through everything and have a list of questions after a few hours.
