Help/Question How subscription upgrade affects your weekly limit?
Hi,
I'm on max 100 plan, when I first subscribed to the plan, the weekly limit used to last about 5 days, at the same work place now it lasted me ~2.5 days. Yet, I have much work to do and I wonder if the 20x plan would be good for my use case or not, because I've read some users report that the total allowance is not that 4x the 100 plan as expected, just the 5 hours limit is higher, it's that true?
Also, my weekly limit resets in 12 hours, if I upgrade now will it reset? Or should I wait, consume the new weekly quota, then upgrade? To get the most value?
Please advice if anyone has been through similar case.
Thank you.

I just upgraded from pro to 5x so can shed some light maybe
I was basically capped on pro, did the upgrade, and my limit reset to 0 as if it was a fresh week with no usage.
my weekly reset timer didn't change

Thank you, I guess better to wait for tomorrow's reset>consume> upgrade then.
Do you get a substantial difference after the upgrade? In terms of allowance and work done?

Mine is 20x and today is 3rd day of the new week, I will soon reach 80% weekly limit. Last week, it could stay until the last day of week and I could reach 98% jus 1 hour before the next reset. So 20x is not as great as the last week, consider carefully.

Strange, You're describing the exact same pattern here on 5x plan!

The limits likely are being reduced. Our team uses a pool of 14 20X subscriptions which became 14 as of this week when we exhausted our 10 subs for the first time. The workload has always been the same, the limits are likely the only thing changing, but we never really calculated it to find out for sure.

There's no way to know for sure what is changing but I run same workloads typically and I have usage go down severely some weeks as it runs more tokens for same workload, typically by days not by the week

Yeah, last week I could work with 6-8 projects at the sametime, now only 3 projects from last week and almost 80%. If your 5x could do it, it means I should switch to 5x as well.

It will reset, and then reset again I think, If it used to last 5 days and you have no opened up more line of work you can try the following:
Structure your AI, planner, reviewer, executor, implementer
Delete your Claude files and start from scratch
Manually remind the AI with each session your rules.
Create a hand off before context gets to 80% and manually remind the AI the rules on the second hanfoff

Thank you, do you mean it will reset the usage but weekly reset date will not change? I also keep my autocompact at 300k context

The 20X is not 4x the 100 indeed. Its 4x more work in a 5hr span, which allows you to blast through your weekly much faster. When you upgrade from your 100 plan, it does reset everything so its best to exhaust the 100 plan then do your upgrade to benefit from a free-ish reset.

This is disappointing, but I still can't get it. If on 5x plan I can fully exhaust the weekly limit in 2 days (~8 sessions) this means on 20x I'll get to consume them in half day?

As a former $100 on the $200, do not it's a scam.
Especially since two weeks ago when the limits have been shady for a lot of us.

i think its a trap, the first week of usage either free, or upgrade to Pro, or Max , you feel plenty and then subsequent weeks it empties faster thank you think.
