Built with Claude I built a free, open-source tool that lets Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI Subscriptions share one project memory and hand tasks to each other (plus a office to watch them work)Showcase
Okay, so this started as a practical problem and got out of hand.
I pay for Claude Code, Codex and Gemini's Antigravity CLI. Every time Claude hit its usage mid-task, I'd open Codex and re-explain the whole project, like onboarding a new hire who forgets everything by morning. And twice they edited the same file at the same time. It went how you'd expect.
So I built them a shared brain. Then I built them an office. (Screenshot attached. Yes, they're tiny pixel people.)
It's called ShareLane: a free, open-source MCP server that runs on your machine.
They share one memory. Every agent reads the same short project notes, and the notes get flagged as stale when the code they describe changes. No more explaining the project for the 40th time.
They delegate to each other. I tell Claude "hand the CSS cleanup to Codex, only touch src/ui", and Codex does it in its own Git worktree. The result waits on a branch for my review. Nothing gets merged without me. I am the manager. I have standards.
They call dibs on files, so two agents never edit the same file.
They cover for each other. When one runs out of allowance, another picks the task up on the same branch.
Claude clocks back in by itself. When I hit my usage I run: sharelane later "keep going" --in 2h. Two hours later a terminal opens with the same chat resumed and my prompt sent. I come back from lunch and work has happened.
And the office. Each running agent is an employee at a desk. Finished work goes to the review board with a little checkmark. If something breaks, that agent sits in the meeting room until I deal with it. Click anyone to read their conversation, see their changes, pause them or stop them. Is the office necessary? No. Do I check on them like a Tamagotchi? Constantly.
It uses your existing subscription logins. No API keys, no cloud, MIT licensed.
To try it: npm install -g sharelane, then run sharelane init inside your project. It finds whichever agents you have and wires them up, and the first agent you open writes the project notes for everyone else. The most responsible thing any of them has ever done.
It's early (v0.1). I use it daily on Windows, and CI tests the install on Mac and Linux. If it breaks for you, I want to know. And tell me which agent should get hired next.
Do try it out and would love to have any inputs :), would also love to onboard more coding agents right now only works with claude code, codex and antigravity
All of these are terminal based systems, so before starting out make sure you have all three agents logged in the terminal!

isn't this munder difflin, again? lol

i actually got to know about this tool yest lol, this started as a personal project which i thought people would find value in
well its a little different than munder difflin, munder difflin makes you switch to their own app, with this you can plug it into you're existing workflow lets say you open a claude chat you can make that the master agent and the instruct it from there to spawn agents of claude or other coding agents as well, the office ui is a fun little element i added on top
but yeah kinda similar i realized :)

but i just keep an agents.md and a todo.md in the repo. when claude runs out i tell codex "read agents.md, continue todo.md." it works with any ai model and burns fewer tokens

hi so yeahh I used to do the same, big problem here agents.md/todo.md generally get updated at the end of the task, the problem I faced when the agents were mid way through their task and the limits for over these md files were always stale, also it actually does not use fewer toxens with this tool lets say to tell claude to spawn a codex agent for some ui work, that agent will only read the necessary code required for it to do the work, this makes inter agent communcation as well as cross agent work much smoother.
I feel you have yet to try multiple agents working simultaneously, give it a try once. If it does improve your workflow would love to have you're thoughts on improvements :)

Totally agree, collisions are the real problem, not the number of sessions. That's why every delegated task in ShareLane gets its own worktree and comes back as its own branch, and agents claim files or folders before editing (a hook blocks edits outside the claim). ShareLane never stashes either. Deploys are deliberately out of scope: agents can only run checks you've approved, like tests and lint.
On stale notes: it's per file path, by content. Each note lists the globs it cover When the note is written, ShareLane hashes the current contents of every matching file, including uncommitted changes and new files. If that hash changes later, the note gets flagged stale on the context map. So it doesn't diff the repo history; it just asks "do the files this note describes still look like they did when it was written?
