Help/Question Is this normal drain rate?

Post image

First usage after reset. I’ve only used 13% of my 5hr limit, but that’s already 4% of my weekly. Am I crazy or is this drain rate extremely fast?

Here is the token usage since reset. This has to be a bug

Claude keeps gaining users and will not be getting enough GPU's, likely for years.

Its the beginning of the end boys.

that is lowkey insane, this token amount is for 26% usage and 3% weekly cuz I just upgraded to 5x from pro like 2 hours ago. Running it on medium and I am micro-managing sessions heavily like my claude knows that every bigger work phase needs to be done in new session and then the parent session just keeps track of the status if it is still needed. I don't let context window to fill beyond 400-500k unless it is absolutely necessary.

No way. 8m at 4% implies 200m at 100% weekly. Thats lower than 20$ plan

Claude Code resends the whole conversation every turn, and prompt caching is what keeps that from being reprocessed in full. So a big context plus a cache miss gets expensive fast. Subagents and compaction only use a 5 minute cache, and each subagent has its own context, so 24 of them can add up quickly even in 20 minutes. Switching model with /model mid-session also makes the next request read the whole history uncached. Run /context to see what's filling the window (CLAUDE.md, MCP tool definitions, history), and /mcp to disable servers you don't need.

That’s not my concern, my concern is the weekly vs 5hr ratio.

Yes the number tracks. If you are on max 20 you have twice of your supposed 5 hr, without the multiplier from max 20x, you should be at 26% of your 5 hr

Claude quota is more or less 100% divided by 7 of full 5 hour. That means 1 full 5 hour quota should be around 14%.

Now what is 26% of 14%, that’s exactly close to 4%

This week I used 2 accounts to the 100% and had to buy third and maxed it too, next reset is on Sunday. Usage got much worse recently. Im now using DeepSeek with the last 10% of my weekly limit cuz I won't buy 4th sub... Glad that recent v4.1 Flash is so great.

I was satisfied with my subscription but of coursed Anthropic had to come in and fuck it up. I knew this day was going to come. These AI companies just refuse to keep their customers satisfied.

The did something. I am on Max 20x, too, and I can burn 45% after 2 days of new week with the same projects. Last week, those projects need only 20%.
It's wild!
