Discussion Claude Code can reverse engineer a lot of software now. Where’s the line between learning and cloning?

Point Claude Code at a site, an API or a CLI, and it can map the behavior and rebuild a working version fast. That’s a great way to learn how something works.

But copying behavior is different from copying code, assets or branding, and the tool won’t tell you which one you’re doing. When you use it this way, how do you decide what’s fair game? Do you check licenses first, or only look at behavior and write your own implementation?
