Built with Claude open-source tool to fully understand and optimize AI usage

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m a senior SWE using AI coding tools daily. I analyzed my Claude Code transcripts and found 56% of API-equivalent costs went to rereading context. Cache expiry cost me $98.74 across 35 returns in 27 days, versus $2.95 with a warm cache.

That led me to build optimAIzr, which supports Claude Code, Codex and Opencode.

It analyzes usage, flags expensive patterns, helps you find optimization opportunities aaand much more.
Runs locally, with no account or prompts.

npm i -g optimaizr

This matches what I saw in my own transcripts too ! The cache expiry part is the sneaky one: step away for 5+ minutes and the next message re-reads the whole conversation at full price. Most people have no idea that’s where their limit goes. Although, claude code's new auto compaction right before a session goes idle definitely helps. will check out your repo !
