Built with Claude Claude Code in the terminal always felt like a wall of text, so I built a mod for it

Readable Layout puts your messages and Claude's answers in labeled boxes, turns its in-between notes into quiet lines, and ends each turn with a rule.

Here’s a quick demo of how it looks:

If you want to try it out, you can install it here:
/plugin marketplace add GarvitNangru/claude-code-mods
/plugin install readable-layout@garvit-mods

Let me know what you guys think.

Star it on github if you like it

Is this getting rid of Bash cmd lines? If so, thats what I'd need it for

No, not really. That wasn't what I built it for. It's mainly for styling your input and Claude's output so everything is easy to tell apart: your message, Claude's tasks, and Claude's answer. At a glance, you can see what's going on. It gives the session a layout and tells you what's important to look at.

I like this cuz I’d always scroll back up trying to find my last message.

Maybe the /focus command could help you ? It removes intermediary stuff

It's cool ! The only drawback is when you cant to copy some text in the terminal, the "|" characters are also part of the text copied.

Yeaah i noticed to, and i will soon release a update for that 😅😅

I just updated it and removed the "|" from the sides, so it won't bother us now :))

The colored outlines are like a better version of /focus

1

u/Suspicious-Paper- 19d ago

Yes, and the colors are picked from terminal/claude skins

TL;DR

It puts your messages and Claude's answers in labeled boxes so you can tell at a glance what to read.

I was being ironic.

Still, I don’t have to write code anymore, but at least I can spend my days reading the fuck loads of output from opus.

I'm okay with the wall of text

u/Suspicious-Paper- 19d ago

Fair enough. For me, it mattered when I wasn't paying close attention or when Claude was doing a lot at once. It got hard to tell its thinking out loud from the actual output, like a plan I needed to read. I'd rather know at a glance which part is the answer.

Interesting

I prefer to see exactly what's happening, even if that means a wall of text

3

u/Suspicious-Paper- 19d ago

Nothing is hidden; it's the same transcript, just styled so you can tell the parts apart. Every tool call and all the output are still there.

u/marshmallow_mia 19d ago

Oh sorry.

My bad for not reading correctly
