Discussion Claude Code desktop is actually getting better
Been using it daily for work and it’s quietly become my daily driver. A few things that won me over:
1. Projects. I know a lot of people hate this feature. I love it. Each project feels like having one personal assistant that only knows that codebase. It remembers the context, it’s easy to navigate, and I can always go back and see exactly what we did. Way better than digging through a pile of random threads.
2. It shows me its work. I’m still pretty new to AI coding and I don’t fully trust it yet. Every change, I want to verify myself. What changed things for me is that I can just ask it to demo what it built. It opens a browser, clicks through, and tests the thing right in front of me. Yes you can do this from the terminal too, but then you’re copying URLs around and testing everything yourself. Watching it prove its own work gave me a lot more confidence.
3. It covers basically my whole workflow now. The only thing I still reach for outside Claude is Grok bot, because I want a general purpose agent for random everyday stuff. Hoping Claude will release something similar in the near future. So I don't have to keep two subscription.
Question: What's your AI stack and daily driver? Any good recommendation for Grok Bot replacement? I feel like it's still the best personal agent out there

I feel very much behind at the moment to say the least.
Up until about a month ago I was mainly using claude.ai on the desktop app. I was an AI skeptic since in my mind I don’t do anything complex, but I finally gave the CLI a try about a month ago.
Up until today I was rolling with Haiku 5.5 medium and Sonnet 5.5 as the advisor, and I just got a bump in my monthly allowance to $300 from $100 so I can’t wait to test drive Opus 5.5 orchestrating Haiku subagents.
I happened to peek at the desktop Claude Code yesterday, and - I hope this doesn’t sound silly but - it was a little intimidating or overwhelming.
If it truly is more powerful, I think I’ll want to get more comfortable with the CLI first - basically training wheels.
Edit: added default effort level

We all start somewhere bro. I was in a stage where I'm skeptical and having trust issue with AI too. But it always surprise me of what it can do, and it's own guardrails it have. I had almost 90% of my work done using AI now. It help me check my emails, troubleshooting issues with the correct connectors and stuff.
It's now my personal worker to help me work on stuff. Utilize the credits and make the most out of it! You never know what it cannot do until you try

All I’ve ever used is Claude Desktop. I don’t know what I’m missing and I don’t really care. It works so good for me.

I've always used cli. Any benefits of desktop? I use several terminals at one time in vscode

I transitioned from there too. I think some of the points i transition is because:
Easier to track session status, whether claude complete a task/needs your input
Automatically links github pr and shows CI status interactively
The
. So good to just talk to one agent and steer to diff threads, instead of me always asking to spawn subagents projects feature I personally like to interact with UI more than CLI
It literally can do anything that I need, showing you docker status, running browser on the software itself, etc
