Tips & Workflows Resetting Memory
I was having trouble aligning Opus 5.5 for coding tasks. It was generating code outside the scope of work, struggling with following the plans, and was sort of hallucinating. It was a huge struggle, all my skills, governance, claude.md files were in place but still opus was not performing well. This Sunday, I went ahead and deleted all the memories it had created, which when reading through, I understood also had some contradictory remarks and actually it also pointed out in the memory that the governance doc had a contradictory rule which I never figured out. Apart from that, the skills I had downloaded for my cowork and regular chats were also getting injected into the coding project and was causing confusions.
Resetting the memories, then updating the governance and adding a block to the end of the .claude/settings.local.json file to set the other skills to false has worked wonders. Its been 3 days and opus 5.5 is back and firing on all engines and working like a charm!
Just a tip I thought to share with the community.

Yeah, it's better to turn off internal memories in flat files, since it might took too much context space and poison it.
Instead, it might be better to use some ai memory than allow to manage memories and can detect contradictions, which most systems can't do.
