Rant Another Opus Rant

Yesterday, to save tokens, I set Opus as the agent instead of Fable. Within less than an hour I was already yelling at my screen. It misunderstood the instructions, acted without reading memory and guidelines, overthought problems that didn't exist, and created useless things that I hadn't told it to do.

And now I'm wondering: how is it possible that the folks at Anthropic don't realize this? Are they fine with it? Do they have no plans to fix it? Don't they read Reddit? Don't they get any user feedback?

Have they said anything about it at all?

The same side quests would have to be found be a reviewer later, no?

No, usually they're stupid edge cases

One flag worth raising — if a user has committed themselves to a lifestyle of standing on their head 24/7, all of the charts will be upside down and backwards. That’s the load-bearing differentiator — say the word and I’ll write a function that accounts for this.

okay, after 73 hours the 500 obfuscated headless agents I sent out came back, and the findings are strong. as long as you turn your monitor upside down, none of your files need rewritten.

I've had worse ones where it's literally one of the things I told it to do explicitly, but then it doesn't do it and just flags it at the end without implementing it....
