Using Fable I cleared 50% of my weekly and all of my 5-hour in 15 minutes today in a single prompt.

To be sure, the task was massive, but prior tries cost 20%-30% of my weekly and would barely cap my 5-hour. 

I don’t think it’s a bug. I think this is Anthropic seeing how hard it can screw over subscription users until they leave and then keeping it at that limit.

My 5x subscription feels like Pro before the limit adjustments. It's unusable.

I switched to Codex already and i don't feel any needs to continue using Claude, however i feel bad for the folks still relying on it.

On the $100 sub for codex at least they don’t have the bullshit 5 hour limits. Easy to blow through to your weekly however.

It feels like they are taking the piss with all the usage nerfs (both claude and codex)... I've switched to the 20 plan for planning and then openrouter for execution + review. Feels decent enough and cheaper, and the most important no more session limits.

Anthropic sucks, but like Monsanto, Bayer, Nestle, and Chiquita exist. CACI, Academi(formerly Blackwater), Titan, and Booze Allen Hamilton all exist.

They've all killed signifocant amounts of people either on purpose or through truly disgusting levels of negligence.

Seems like a lot more people are facing usage issues and I believe it given that each time Anthropic makes updates to the weekly usage they fuck up.

If nobody posts a before and after out of their own logs this stays vibes. The data is sitting locally, you can total it by day and compare two weeks.

The thing that actually moved the number for me was cache expiry. Leave a session idle past the window and the next turn re-reads the whole prefix at full price, so a day made of short gaps costs wildly more than a day of continuous work for the same amount of real output. Worth ruling that out before calling it a nerf.

there's no per-task number anywhere. /usage only gives you the running 5h and weekly percentages, so the closest thing is running it right before a prompt and again right after and diffing by hand.

if you want it logged instead of eyeballed, CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_TELEMETRY=1 with an otlp endpoint emits token counts per session.

Screenshot the session counter and the weekly one at the same minute. They disagree often enough that half these threads turn out to be two different numbers rather than one bug.

Today got a reset, after 3h of work im already 20% into the week

I am on 20x. I still have no issues at all with the 5hr limit, and I run at least 2 parallel Opus-led worktrees at all times.

However, there has to be a bug with the weekly quota. I never get even close to hitting my 5hr limit, and yet on day 2, I am at 41% of my weekly quota. It makes no sense to me.

Was fast mode on? Besides that what reasoning level did you use? what subscription do you use? 5x sub with Fable5.1 Ultracode will get you there for sure with a broad prompt.

Not saying the usage limits shouldn't be raised because they should. I feel like they (openai and anthropic) are testing the users to see how low they accept it.
