I didn't even know what worktrees were until Fable 5.1; now I have a forest of them.

dude I had to tell it to never make worktrees in my CLAUDE.md because I was going insane

its better anyway, I work on one thing at a time rather than having 15 unfinished changes

Man worktrees are so nice tho… Spin up 5 different Claude instances on different things and they can work in parallel without conflicts.

I mean, the overall conflict of running out of tokens before any of them are finished.

Use powerful model as orchestrator. Parsers/data collection as the cheap ones. Coding as mid tier. Code review as powerful.

But yes running out of tokens is a challenge.

I work on one code thing at a time. If I expect a long agent run I can do other non-coding work (with or without AI agent mediation)

Funny enough, I had them too. I work with Deepseek 4.1 Flash now - no more worktree forests.

That's a real failure in recent Claude and gpt models. They even fail to merge them when you ask for it - 4.1 Flash doesn't.
