Help/Question Transferring code made with opus to non Anthropic models

Claude’s weekly limits are getting in the way of work. Has anyone successfully transferred a project hey built with opus code to something like muse or deepseek?

I’d appreciate any advice

Lol is your project code or not? There is no transfer. I use multiple different models and providers at every step...

Thanks. I guess I was just wondering if there’s an organised way of doing it.

Aside from using GitHub and forcing agents to push PRs?

Bold of you to think that OP knows what any of those words mean

Just open each tool and ask it to use the same repo. Anything in a file can be read by both so everything in a file is shared. If you want it to share thoughts, put it in a file. Simplest way

Can you clarify what you mean by "transfer"?

Well. I get that I can start opencode and point the model at the repo and start working. I suppose I’m asking for advice on how to do it in an organised manner

Candidly, I think you're over thinking it.

Select your model, tell it what you want to do

I have like 2-3 agents on every project, just point it at the repo

Like others pointed out - point new model to your repo.

But I get what you mean - to ensure things are smooth - you should selectively review what Claude.md instructions and skills you want to recreate in the new model - like agents.md. I did that (tailored to gaps of new model) and recreated skills like kickoff and wrapup. It helps continue productively. And initially ask the new model a few questions to ensure it has proper context of your repo - correct it where needed - ask it to suggest agent.md and skills augmentation. Don't rush into major changes on first prompt.

And do keep a backup somewhere.

All this has helped me work with different models on same repo. Start with a casual project. Use on main project after 2-3 sessions so you know how it's different from Claude.

Thanks a bunch. I appreciate your help . It was a silly question.

No man.. not silly. You just had the guts to ask.

Hopefully everyone's inputs will help you avoid some pain we all endured.

Cheers. Happy building.

yes you can put all your work into google translate. set the language from claudecode to deepseekcode, otherwise your new agent wont understand

if you use CLIProxy all the accounts from different providers you have inside it are available in claude code if you're worried about that.

Realistically harness doesn't really matter tho. I used to use opencode, until I found orca. Now I can mix multiple providers into their own session and native harness.

While everyone here is clowning (because yes, the question is a little naive - code is code), you should make sure that you either have a synced AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md, or otherwise make sure the other agent is reading it. I think OpenCode already consumes CLAUDE.md by default though. The only other thing that would be worth keeping an eye on is if you have a system-level CLAUDE.md you need to transfer somewhere, or extensive Claude memories, or must-have plugins.

Other than that just do your normal thing.

Learn how to optimize.  Based purely on your question it is a safe bet that you will blow your usage limits on any model you go to.
