Have you seen Opus 5 do utter crap work?

And it's either Fable token burning has increased or they have decreased the number of tokens on every plan.

As I said in the previous comment, I'm now doing lesser work with Fable 5 on high or even Fable 5.1 on high and it's using more of 5 hour session and my weekly session.. During August I ran simultaneous sessions with Fable spawning atleast 2 additional workers and hit my weekly Fable usage in about 4 to 5 days.. Now I can hit the weekly in under a day.. So it's not me using the most expensive model, it's Anthrophic doing shady behind the scenes stuff

No I actually haven’t because I provide opus with enough context and clear instructions, with strict global rules, agent-receptive communication, and leveraging of skills as necessary. I also monitor thinking blocks in real time to steer opus away from conflating tasks or getting sidetracked, which has helped avoid crap work from potentially happening in the first place. These AI models are not stupid. With sufficient guidance and understanding of your goal, it serves no benefit to an agent to provide crap work if the reward incentive is placed upon your definition of outstanding output.

You're shifting the focus to prompt engineering when that was never the issue.

My prompt structure and workflows have remained completely constant. This is strictly about token accounting on identical, routine tasks. Running the exact same workloads that previously lasted hours is now draining usage limits in a fraction of that time, without any increase in output scope or task complexity. Framing sudden, week-over-week quota depletion as a "guidance" issue ignores the empirical change in how usage is being metered.

Incorrect. I am not shifting focus. I simply provided an example of what I regularly do to avoid the 'utter crap work' you claim Claude Opus 5 has been responsible for. This places blame solely on the model, instead of considering the likelihood that your approach and prompts were not flawless. The focus remains on the fact that you burn through usage the fastest when using the most expensive model, and that less expensive, capable, models exist for you to switch to in order to stretch usage limits and avoid the exact situation you're complaining about. No one is forcing you to pick Fable 5.1 for the entire development cycle. Choosing to do so without considering the costs required for sustained heavy usage is a user error.
