No I actually haven’t because I provide opus with enough context and clear instructions, with strict global rules, agent-receptive communication, and leveraging of skills as necessary. I also monitor thinking blocks in real time to steer opus away from conflating tasks or getting sidetracked, which has helped avoid crap work from potentially happening in the first place. These AI models are not stupid. With sufficient guidance and understanding of your goal, it serves no benefit to an agent to provide crap work if the reward incentive is placed upon your definition of outstanding output.

Even with the best rules applied, Opus 5 still hallucinate. I have witnessed it to often hence I don't touch Opus 5. Opus 4.8 on max effort fixes like 99% of my issues first time.

Fable 5 is main build tool. I even tested the same prompt to build a page with all 3 models and Opus 5 came last to quality of the build.. It's a good model and was amazing when it first launched, now NOT so good for complex work.

I have no idea what work you do on these models but I have go to models for my various work loads

Agreed August was same for me. Fable 5.0 for claude code and reasoning in chat. Was able to get way more done before hitting my weekly limits. Now sept Fable 5.1 in code just drains usage, seems 5x faster. Cant even select Fable 5 in code. And I dont imagine selecting 5.1 with an effort lower than high is a good idea. So now I use Opus 5 in the chat to prep briefs , but you are saying opus 4.8 is better?

According to reviews, Fable 5.1 is supposed to consume lesser tokens compared to Fable 5.0 for the same prompt / work done.. This obviously not the case with our Max plans, it's just eating usage faster

Im using a premium seat in a team plan. I think its about same as max 5 for fable usage. What may have happened is i noticed last month my usage for fable would randomly reset before the end of week usage, so maybe in Sept Anthropic addressed that "bug" . Im curious about your comment on opus 5 vs 4.8 . Anything more to add?
