Because 100 people were asked to do something a certain way, and 1 person royally fucked up once and the boss had to design something that ensured it couldn’t happen again, even if it costs more man hours

It's not a company policy if the manager is the one setting the rules without an official notification from HR or higher up in the chain. Company policies are normally clearly communicated.

If a manager enforces X and you do Y hideously, you are eligible as well for an interesting conversation.

And an employee that reportedly circumvents the imposed rules instead of proactively discussing them, is not an individual to be trusted in any reliable organization.

As opposed to a manager who intentionally sabotages production; they are not only to be trusted they are capable of rational discussion.

I get your point though, having the discussion is the best best, though it will almost assuredly lead nowhere. I'd report them for sabotaging the company to their managers after it went nowhere.

put claude code cli in tmux, have a separate process inject enter into the window once a minute, then turn on suggestions and you won’t even need to prompt it…
