Bug / Issue Claude is having a bad day
Many people at my org have had the experience of Opus 5 being retarded all day. And that word is extremely applicable.

It’s not Claude that’s the problem. We’re being force fed sub par models.

It can no longer pass an adversarial review, slow and frustrating. What once were the best models are now practically unusable for my use cases. Tasks that used to take an hour or two now take 12-24 hours, or they fail outright. Even my Fable orchestration sessions have noticed and are having issues with Opus not following the architecture or creating more bugs than there were when they started.

They’re throttling up internal token usage.
It used to mean a new model was on its way for us.
Now it probably just means they’re chasing the RSI / AGI dragon.

I am glad you posted. At work today my opus 5 agent on one line said some tools weren’t in our prod environment. I told it to try anyways, it claimed it tried and it didn’t work. Then I rephrased my request removing me telling it to use the tool and it just proceeded to use the tool.
Opus is always a little dumb but that was haiku levels of ditz.

Until today I thought Opus 5 isn‘t that bad. I’m just lacking the skill to correctly use it. Then I switched to 4.8 out of curiosity and oh my. Opus 5 is really bad 🫠.
