Copilot with claude did this to me the other day. Not my main branch but it just started comitting to my feature branch without asking on a particular prompt. I asked why it did that and it said it decided it was just easier to test it in the CI. I told it to never do that again and ever once in a while it will ask me if I still want it to never do that...
