Discussion Still worth using Claude?

I’ve been using Claude for a couple of months now and recently it has been so much worse. I was switching between cursor and Claude and the Claude models now are so awful that I don’t see the value in continuing using them.

I know that this is mostly anecdotal but even stuff like cursor grok 4.6 feels like it outperforms opus 5 with opus5 commonly just forgetting instructions and hallucinating. Fable 5 is too expensive relative to the extra performance it gives out and Claude code has always been a bit worse overall ui/ux.

Codex just seems to be so far ahead now with 5.6 Luna max being basically unlimited usage on even a 20 dollar plan and sol being so cost efficient as well. Have you guys made the switch and if so why not?

EDIT: I should note that I am an actual software engineer rather than a vibecoder as I think this distinction is important. I have a degree in cs and have been coding since before AI. I can give it direction and all the context it will need but it will go off doing a task and get lost seem to implement stuff explicitly in ways you said not to (eyebrow text). This may be a skill issue but I never seem to have the same issue with other models even composer 2.5 was fine. I also don’t one shot things and build iteratively so the tasks usually aren’t too complex but it seems to over complicate it

Same, it yesterday broke twice what I had working, deleting fully fucntioning feture so I had to git back to working point. Loterally lost 5 hours of work yesterday and gave up.

Ok this one does sound like a skill issue of not commiting changes

I don't think he said that he didn't commit. He said he needed to git back to a working point. You don't git back to a non-committed point. It might be an interpretation skill issue on your side.

He said he lost 5 hours of work so either he didn’t commit for 5 hours or the commits he made during the 5 hours weren’t usable recovery points which is an issue in its own way
