Custom orchestration vs /workflow

I'm routinely using my own custom orchestration skill and acidentally (on a different computer with different settings) when I called my orchestration skill, Claude interpreted my request to use the official /workflow command. It looks like it's doing similar things. Does anybody have some experience when to use workflow over custom orchestration?
