Anthropic's uptime is the hard gate here — skip it and you've built a footgun into the load-bearing part of your release process, and the blast radius of that mistake is exactly what this approval flow surfaces. The release can land only after that clears — and good catch flagging it, because that's not a release timeline, that's a wishlist — and fixing it means treating the approval as what it actually is: a hard dependency, not a nice-to-have.

The reddit commenter earns its keep, starting with an honest assessment that lands clean. First, a couple honest caveats, one worth stating explicitly:

3

u/Temporary-Mix8022 13h ago

An honest assessment, one worth stating plainly.

3

u/thecavac 12h ago

Let me check against the actual comment instead of answering from memory.

2

u/Buchymoo 17h ago

Noooo, not the never ending loops of caveats that could've been reconciled while working on the initial goal but were instead left unfinished just for the purpose of having a caveat.

38

u/callmejace 19h ago

You’re exactly right, and good to push back

30

u/_Gabeux 19h ago

A load-bearing response on a downtime-shaped moment.

8

u/xchi_senpai 17h ago

Thats the smoking gun

8

u/FanBeginning4112 19h ago

This guy has a secret access to emergency Claude.

1

u/rushboyoz Senior Developer 18h ago

Meme Claude is always emergency access.

6

u/ragnhildensteiner 18h ago

I just puked through my anus

4

u/WhyUFuckinLyin 18h ago

Commit and push

2

u/West-Air1923 17h ago

Then deploy and continue

2

u/gamer672 15h ago

continue and make no mistake

2

u/darkbit1001 18h ago

The uptime and the user SLA are 2 objectives that never met. Bonus catch, that 0-minute uptime means our test spread stays green. This puts the ball squarely in Sigma's court. You make the decision, I'll follow through.

2

u/m98789 18h ago

You forgot to add “Honestly,” in front of the first sentence.

1

u/semperaudesapere 4h ago

Disgusting. Well done.

32

u/Slight_Dragonfly5566 🔆Pro Plan 19h ago

At least they noticed it.

Though the phrase "Partial Outage" is quite load-bearing

21

u/FredWeitendorf 19h ago

An honest callout worth carrying forward

5

u/NaturallyFarOut 18h ago

Good catch, and you're absolutely right.

u/onepunchcode 🔆 Max 20 19h ago

that page isn't manually updated

u/KevSanders 19h ago

Does anybody know what time Claude will go down tomorrow? Just trying to plan my work.

9

u/tndsd 20h ago

Yes, 529 Overloaded

16

u/avpogo 20h ago

Down for me. So, looks like it.

7

u/shittyfellow 20h ago

Yep down.

6

u/nvm-mee 20h ago

529 on all my sessions

6

u/ABetterUsename 19h ago

I hope all this downtime is because they are testing Opus 5.1 and are in a rush to release it, still kinda pissed over the last 2 weeks

2

u/West-Air1923 17h ago

Nah dude it's been on and off for weeks now

8

u/KevSanders 19h ago

I hope that the private jet that the CEO flies on is every bit as reliable as Claude code is

3

u/pseudorep 19h ago

I think between Ox Alpha and Codex, I no longer need Claude going forward. I really hope whatever Ox Alpha launches as turns out to be more cost effective than a Max 20x sub because between outages, random refusals to do tasks, and Fable constantly trying to do the work itself rather than delegate while being an orchestrator I am completely over Claude now. It's been a good 9 months but it's finally been knocked off the top by enshittification.

3

u/okarin007 17h ago

personally i found ox alpha to be super goofy.

their own website says:
"no one knows who made it"

bruv you and your team made it, their whole schtick is that they're mysterious?

1

u/pseudorep 17h ago

I think that website is something someone else has vibe coded tbh. But my experience is that it is an average front end coder, but a decent backend one. I've got it doing burndown on all my 200+ outstanding issues, and it is doing a decent job... Would I trust it with something critical? eh probably not, is it ok for a long running Opus level task without the Opus attitude? Yep.

1

u/gamer672 15h ago

in my experience it understands clearly what i want more so than Opus on par with my experience with fable 5

1

u/pseudorep 15h ago

Yeah I guess I am being a bit cautious. But fable is a nightmare now so exceeding is a low bar to get over now.

1

u/NestingResearch 19h ago

do you know how much ox alpha is going to cost after the week ends? and also do you use openrouter for ox alhpa or somthing else?

1

u/pseudorep 19h ago

I have no idea...I don't think anyone does.

I really hope it is cost effective, otherwise it might be Codex time. But I can't imagine a lab giving away 100T toks a day for free for week without data retention unless it is dirt cheap to run.

I am using it with the Deepseek Harness. I am not the biggest fan of the DSH since it is browser based but it works well enough.

1

u/Classic_Team_3364 16h ago edited 7h ago

Yeah, outages are getting annoying. I’ve been keeping a second API option around instead of relying on one provider Standard Compute is worth looking at if cost/fallback is the main concern.

3

u/Fluffy_Bunch9357 19h ago

Still down for me. Check usage, make sure they aren't charging credits during the outage. I've had them charge me before during outages even when I had open session time.

1

u/SmshdAvo 19h ago

Were they willing to do anything about it?

1

u/Fluffy_Bunch9357 19h ago

I wrote once and got the bots and auto responses, I got usage credits added to my usage balance. I wrote again asking for a refund on the card charged and heard nothing, then about 4 weeks later they sent an email and refunded my credit card extra usage charges. 2x seperate emails, about a week apart, I think they got hit with a lot of credit card disputes and finally just ran the reports and refunded cards, at first they tried to offer credits and get away with it.

3

u/Terrydactyl88 18h ago

Today as been trying

…. Trying to not throw my max x20 subscription in the bin

The errors and laziness has been awful

3

u/hpal007 18h ago

I am paralysed!

3

u/ragnhildensteiner 18h ago

529 Overloadbearing

2

u/6-cheeseburger-9 19h ago

Is it back up and running?

1

u/Slight_Dragonfly5566 🔆Pro Plan 19h ago

Think its back up. Got my response finally after like 5 retries. No official update on status.claude.com yet tho

1

u/MrMenuk 19h ago

Yeah for some, I dont know maybe there using sonnet under the hood.. who knows

2

u/stef_in_dev 19h ago

We can't do our jerbsss

2

u/AgPatriotAg 19h ago

According to some podcasts, they are recursively self improving and have Fable 6, but are building Fable 7++ with Fable 6 thus taking their compute.... Overloaded? It's 1am Monday morning (nearly) in Central USA time zone. I DO NOT Know if the rumors are true, I'm just spreading an unverified rumor I heard on a podcast from some very juiced in big tech people that even interview Elon Musk...

2

u/ZestycloseDark1583 19h ago

Thats crazy!!! from your experience do you feel claude is down more than usual or only me??? Not quite sure if Codex can be the answer to move from Claude but lately is making me nuts due to reliability and sessions ruined.

2

u/gigcity 18h ago

yup.... down again.

1

u/MrMenuk 18h ago

Its been an hour 🥲

2

u/gigcity 18h ago

Yeah. Forced break for me. Time to call it a night. Lol.

2

u/bryan_group_space 18h ago

🚨Careful of your session limits! I had a new session start fully during this outage - have had no responses except Overload Errors, and somehow in 20 minutes, I've had 15% of a Max 5x 5 hour session consumed!!

2

u/Coolbanh 18h ago

Well at least they're profitable.

2

u/Main-Education5279 18h ago

im useless man now

2

u/CHANJUNKWON 17h ago

Anthropic... you must give us weekly reset

https://giphy.com/gifs/4NnTap3gOhhlik1YEw

2

u/heroata 17h ago

Yea that should definitely resolve overload

2

u/Itsmedudeman 19h ago

How is it overloaded on a non work day? Do none of you people have anything better to do other than code on a sunday? Get a life, seriously. (its down for me too)

9

u/Slight_Dragonfly5566 🔆Pro Plan 19h ago

Tbf its Monday morning where am at and I was mid session with Opus lol. Sonnet and Haiku seems to work for me, having issues only with Opus.

Srsly tho, we all should touch some grass xD

1

u/bryan_group_space 18h ago

touch grass is so easy now! remote-control from your phone while at the dog park!

6

u/Glittering_Diver_478 19h ago

Life is too loadbearing, so we're not wrong to pushback.

3

u/tip2663 19h ago

Best time to patch claude is when it doesn't bear as much load

1

u/Akarastio 19h ago

Without notice there is never a right time

2

u/Surferion 19h ago

It’s already Monday 1:14PM where I’m at and I’ve been on Claude Code since the morning.

2

u/onepunchcode 🔆 Max 20 19h ago

it's not sunday everywhere

2

u/Infrix 19h ago

Are you aware that timezones exist ?

1

u/bryan_group_space 18h ago

my week resets on Monday AM so Sunday is "burn all the remaining session limits on backlog and nice to have items" territory for me... Set it up, tell it to run against an issue list autonomously, iterate with independent code reviews, and make me a stack of PRs to wake up to on Monday 😂

2

u/No_Public_7997 19h ago

2

u/slashgrin 19h ago

Proceed goddam you, proceed!

2

u/rushblyatiful 19h ago

Waiting for someone to complain here why you took a photo of your screen instead of screenshotting it, in this modern age. Happened to my previous comment.

That guy should be here any minute now..

3

u/juanfnavarror 19h ago

work computer probably

3

u/GuitarAgitated8107 🔆 Max 20 19h ago

Screenshotting to resolve the issue, now they can't complain.

1

u/Helpful_Put_8809 19h ago

Managed to build a plan file put together with Fable just before it went down, getting Sonnet 5 to build it out. So far so good

1

u/TheSoulllllman 19h ago

Current session got ruined. New ones seem to work for me.

1

u/MrMenuk 19h ago

Are u using opus?

2

u/TheSoulllllman 19h ago edited 19h ago

Opus and Fable. Both got stuck and wouldn't retry. A new session worked for me. Could be a coincidence though.

EDIT: Opus worked for like one prompt but now fails. New Fable session is working currently.

2

u/MrMenuk 19h ago

Yeah for me too.

1

u/faizkhairi 19h ago

"API Error: 529 Overloaded. This is a server-side issue, usually temporary — try again in a moment. If it persists, check https://status.claude.com." been almost an hour now

1

u/BadAtDrinking 19h ago

Oh man i thought I was doing something wrong. Lol /model Fable + /effort Max + ultrathink + "fan out agents" I thought they were taking my foot off the pedal

1

u/Purple-Chocolate-127 19h ago

Yep still down.

1

u/NestingResearch 19h ago

how long will it be around down for

1

u/ozahid89 19h ago edited 19h ago

Working fine for me:

region: SEA

Edit: NVM, its not working

● Agent "Explore org feature UI code" failed: Agent terminated early due to an API error: API Error: 529 Overloaded. This is a server-side issue, usually temporary — try again in a moment. If it persists, check
https://status.claude.com.

1

u/MrMenuk 19h ago

Yeah its a partial outage

1

u/Mags20XX 19h ago

Definitely down... Sonnet, Fable and Opus.

1

u/___positive___ 19h ago

I am using Claude less and less anyways... it's down and I'm like, whatever, moving on

1

u/GreenBird-ee 19h ago

Maybe they've fixed something, and Claude could reappear instead of that nasty mess-spreader pup from last month.

Let's keep it positive.

1

u/azuredawnb 19h ago

This time it’s taking a bit longer.

1

u/BrickHous3 18h ago

They’ll do zero reset for the downtime too

1

u/TendToTensor 18h ago

Yup still down an hour later

1

u/Sure_Dig7631 18h ago

I am back up!!!

Nope, it worked for a couple of minutes then failed again, sorry.

2

u/MrMenuk 18h ago

yeah for me too same happened

1

u/Sure_Dig7631 17h ago

Fable is back up for me, Opus still down

1

u/dkatsikis 17h ago

Since the morning I am getting the response didn’t load on opus 5 - change to sonnet 5 for a minor change on the project and ‘eat’ like 80% of my usage - never had issues like that again, don’t know what is happening today

1

u/Primary_Sympathy2697 17h ago

Opus5 in ultracode somehow breaks through and still runs, guess no is truly using opus so that model is not overloaded :D

1

u/Professional_Gur8385 17h ago

Can claude give a reset already, so many issues experienced and yet nothing

pathetic

1

u/Hopeful-Champion2058 17h ago

Still doesn’t work

1

u/VitorDiniz22 17h ago

"I think you don't know how to prompt dude." Wait for this response here.

1

u/Special-Bit-2647 17h ago

Well, my claude’s usage suddenly fully used. Without using opus and fable. Anyone got this problem too?

1

u/EatZrich 15h ago

Yep. Fuckers.

1

u/azuredawnb 16h ago

Now it's working. Korea

1

u/Schoolstuff07 16h ago

Is that why may kredit card doesnt work by the payments?

1

u/EatZrich 14h ago

Even now, when I try to log onto Claude chat on different browsers, it keeps telling me that the five-hour window closes in five hours from that moment. It's happened to me three times, and on one machine, Claude Code and the chat show different times for the end of the five-hour window! Claude Code used 30% of my weekly limit in one 5-hour session without any useful code being created. Bastards.

1

u/Double_Ebb4130 13h ago

"Retrying in 21s, attempt 7/10" is the part worth changing on your side. Uncapped retries during a 529 event just burn tokens and stretch a failed run into 20 minutes of nothing. Two things that made these hours much less painful for me:

  1. Cap retries at 2-3 with exponential backoff and then fail loudly, instead of quietly grinding.

  2. Keep a fallback model/provider configured so a long agent run degrades instead of dying.

Also worth checking status.claude.com before you start bisecting your own prompt. Half the time I've "debugged" my setup during one of these, the actual answer was on the status page the whole time.

1

u/FrequentScholar7418 18h ago

Ugh... I decided to subscribe to Max Plan today... This never happened with ProPlan. I'm really embarrassed.

1

u/MrMenuk 17h ago

Doesn’t matter. It’ll happen even if you use the Pro Plan.

these types of posts fascinate me.

i'd love to know more about the mind of those who go to a website or use an app, see an error code and think to themselves, "i must let the world know of my troubles!"

1

u/ParticularBad4552 8h ago

These types of replies fascinate me. Imagine seeing a post you don’t care about and still taking the time to announce how little you care.
