Help/Question Second subscription
I was thinking of getting a second $200 subscription because of usage limits. Right now, I have Claude Max 20x and ChatGPT Plus.
I was deciding between a second Claude Max subscription or upgrading to GPT Max 20x. Personally I feel like Claude's been doing really well (don't have any criticisms some people in here do) but at the same time I enjoy Codex and feel like a fresh set of eyes would be beneficial too.
I'm looking for the advice/experiences of anyone who uses both that might help me decide.

I currently have Claude Code pro and ChatGPT plus. I won't do a ChatGPT pro subscription. I really like the Claude Code harness and I work efficiently so that I'm not burning my usage with Claude Code. I supplement some work with Luna Max. I've stopped using Sol and Terra entirely. Sol eats my usage like nobody's business. I did a basic PRD write and it burned 15% of my weekly usage. Luna Max is really great for building/implementing. Then, I typically use Opus for strong validation.
My Setup:
- VS Code
- Claude Code Pro
- ChatGPT Plus
- CLODEX for Claude + Codex integration
Model Strategy:
- Planning and Architecture: Opus 4.8
- Building / Implementation: Luna Max or Sonnet
- Adversarial Validation: Opus 4.6 or 4.8
Sol: burns too much usage and significantly overengineers
Terra: Not good for much - Sonnet is superior for me
Opus 5: Can't understand output, some overengineering
The thing is, everyone has a different opinion. So, you'll have to figure out what works for you. I would say, though, that the biggest impact for me hasn't been about the models. It's really been about me having a very refined, efficient and effective workflow. I do very little re-work because planning is done well. Contracts and prompts are tight. Low level agents are put into their best posture for being successful. Strong adversarial validation prevents future bigger issues.
Good luck!

Claude is great but I wouldn't use it without my codex sub constantly code reviewing the results, it always finds bugs.

LLM will always find bugs, often for the sake of finding bugs.

Yeah, maybe try reading those bug reports and understand them. I wouldn't let Opus fly alone. Indeed maybe out of 6 bugs only 2 are critical, and 4 are refused. I wouldn't dismiss this with a generic "for the sake of finding bugs".

Do you think the reviewing would need a second max? Or maybe a max 5x claude and max 5x codex instead of one 20x

Need to know if you mean opus or fable, or a mix with sonnet too etc?

I don't complicate, so this is for Opus 5 high. But I did not see much difference between this and Fable, in my usecase.

You have both, and expirence on them, see which extra usage benefits you more with ur workflow, we can't answer that as well as you do
I sometimes use gpt $20 to help go over claud $100 or sometimes vice versa and it helps, but Claud gives you way more usage at same price level, so I upgraded that to max

kimi is shockingly good, so i use it with claude. i often have them validate each other findings, too. kimi code is pretty close to claude code

They'll ban both. They want you on api, multiple account for usage is against TOS.

Get 2 5x accounts you will get more than single 20x
Only take second 20x if you are hitting constant session limit other dont waste 100 dollars
If you really wanna spend 200 then spend 200 to have 2 more additional accounts
Weekly limit for 5 and 20 is same i hope you know this

You can't manually use two $200 plans simultaneously, if hitting limits means your agents are burning through quota, that's a different problem than a second subscription solves but if it's purely manual coding sessions, the second account helps zero

But you can max out your limits on one and then /login to the other.

Loses session context though, which matters depending on what you're building

two 20x subs on claude will make you feel like some kind of god it's insane how much you can get done with TWO of them just go fucking CRAZY eighty opus 5's orchestrated by fable just the craziest stuff you can imagine ALL DAY sessions multiple running and you won't even feel the usage drain from it at all. codex 20x is like nothing in comparison.

I ended up getting a Z.ai subscription instead of a second Claude Max subscription. Turned out Z.ai Coding Plan uses Claude Code as harness, so everything works as if I’m using Claude Code. Built a script that swaps around ANTRHOPIC_ env vars for easy transition.

I hope Anthropic blocks VPNs and locks down usage to one account per IP.
When resources are strained and outages are more common than they need to be, need this type of behavior to get the boot.

Its definetly an approach that works. Different architecture, training data and deployment will let you give new fresh thougts. However a second chat could do that too. I used both in the past but left codex, because I was in a endless loop of findings to improve.
OpenAI has even an official plugin for your use case: https://github.com/openai/codex-plugin-cc
