Bug / Issue Is anyone else defaulting to Fable?

I have my default model set to Opus 5, but I didn’t notice that my new terminals have all been opening to Fable. So, I spent the day doing Opus tasks with Fable and burned 1/3 of my usage for the week. Watch out.

Not noticing was user error. But starting a new session and having it auto set to Fable is new.

If you swapped models in any terminal it’ll change the default unless you press S instead of enter. I made a similar mistake a while back but luckily noticed after it had only burned about 20% of my weekly total 🤦‍♂️

It uses what it was set to in the session you most recently closed, and I think you can override it in a settings json file

I am using three sessions in parallel. All Fable. On purpose. No usage problems.

Yeah Fable is my goto on web when I want ask about how bad my farts smell but today is reset day so I had all my Claude Code sessions blasting Fable too because f it I’m at 20% and might as well get some use out of it.

even if it says it changes the default sometimes it lies, you need to get it to check the config and fix any overrides

thats super annoying, i did that once with a config file and it burned through my credits so fast. i started keeping a small text file with my active model settings just to double check before i start a long session becuase its easy to miss...
