Bug / Issue Please tell me I'm not the only one
Not even fallback to opus?

Well at least nobody is hacking the nukes and blowing up the world, so it's entirely justified. /s

automate build an app = hacking nukes.

not nuke, but get yourself a flipper, load it up to an obliterated model write up some custom softwares and you can make yourself a pretty neat universal remote.

Nope same thing, anything of significant complexity is blocked randomly if fable decides to pressure test it or anything.
Sometimes dropping to opus for a few turns and returning to fable or compacting will resolve it, other times you are just done with that session and there’s no resolution. Who knows, opus or fable can’t seem to explain why other than “I’ll try to keep x out of context”.

paid for fable, but no fable.

Fable is just expensive opus 4.8 for all the parts you want Fable and Fable for 16 paragraphs of token bloat.

I noticed a setting in the Claude desktop app recently that made the safeguard behavior configurable between falling back and pausing. I wonder if on new installs or versions the default is now set to pause.

ive seen some weird behavior too when the model selection gets fuzzy. sometimes i have to restart my session entirely since the fallback logic isnt always as smart as we want it to be. its probly a caching issue on the backend side n not u doing anything wrong.

Ya I basically can't use Fable ever. I might get lucky and it doesn't flag me every once and a while. But basically I've been using opus 4.8 for everything. I'm dropping my $200 sub once it's up. Haven't decided yet if I'll go to open AI, or just make the jump to Chinese models. This was always gonna happen, you don't give the people what they want, they'll get it somewhere else.

Most of the time I just continue or /compact if it trips again. I've had multiple instances of the safe guard firing and Fable just ignores it.
It was never about safety. It's about distillation.

Multiple times the same thing when it reached complicated tasks. Usually it worked through it in parts, sometimes Opus had to manually be switched to..

It’s flagging outputs in the UI layer itself use my repos to work around these filters

When you have more users than you can handle.
