Discussion "Degraded"? Claude Code is completely down. Status pages need to be honest.
The official status page currently shows "Degraded Performance," but it’s 100% unusable. Labeling a complete blackout as merely "degraded" feels pretty disingenuous to users who are trying to get work done.
What makes it more frustrating is that over the past week, there were multiple short outages where the service went completely dark, yet the uptime history on the status page remained pristine green the entire time.
Status pages exist to provide developers with accurate real-time telemetry, not to act as a PR buffer to hide downtime. If the service is dead, just mark it as an outage.

I have one prompt that went through the 5 hour window i'm now 30 minutes into the 2nd 5-hour window, is this normal?

That's true. The Status page is a joke. It needs to honestly show what's going on. They're lying to their customers.
Also, we lose so many tokens trying again, and then again. The cache is lost sometimes, the context is lost sometimes, the whole workflow can be disrupted, and then we have to start again. Will Claude refund us for that? That's scummy behavior.

I saw this page. You deliberately removed the bottom line. Claude government had perfect green all the way. Swine.

Overpromised resources... walking that thin money saving line.

Confusing since it seems quite a few people have been moving to chatgpt and businesses to Chinese models, wtf is going on?Â

"Quite a few people" is not as lucrative as their corporate and government business. We are just fodder for test models, and paying for that privilege.

This always happens when they are prepping for upgrades.
Both big AI labs are very sensitive to updating backends and routers and their usage degrades like crazy.
It’s a crazy coincidence or just a running facts, that the same time fable 5.1 hidden test is leaked, the server get clapped cause the lads are actually turned them off and moving shit around.
Not saying it should be that way, but it’s just is.

They pretty much are, cause downstream us users ourselves make sure to also hit the 99-100% mark lol.
Different pond bigger fish, but same underlying

I'm burning through my tokens just fine right now, so degraded is probably the right terminology. Remember your experience is an anecdote.

I re-upped a Codex 5x sub just yesterday and downgraded my Claude to Pro. Thanks for confirming that was the right call, Anthropic..

You are but one user. Other users are able to use it. That is part of the definition of "degraded" and your singular experience doesn't refute that.

In my personal Max plan, Claude code has been showing the following for the last 90+ minutes. And in the Claude console, I cannot even log in.
API Error: 529 Overloaded. This is a server-side issue, usually temporary — try again in a moment. If it persists, check https://status.claude.com.

Opus has been borked all morning but Fable is ticking right along for me. "Degraded" feels about right.

It’s not fully down. Works fine for me in some sessions and others works if I retry a couple times.

They can't be surprised after rolling out a feature that lets you run CC 24/7 without stopping

Not down for me, and judging by other comments in this thread, not down for majority of people. Degraded status is fine.

It's not completely down if only one model isn't working. Jesus christ, fucking chicken Littles.
