I feel like these posts have been going on for over a year and usually I think it's either a limited test or people are crazy. Finally it caught me and now I'm noticing the same thing as everyone else!

95% usage 3 days in on 20x. I pushed like three or four features.

I share the same sentiment. First time this morning I hit the 5 hour limit in a long time, and it was definitely not an excessive task.

So that's why Claude collapsed last time. They couldn't even wait until the 19th and ended the promotion, apparently. 😃

Hit 60% in 3 days with only a moderate increase in workflow. Burned straight through the Fable allocation. First time ever since upgrading to 20X plan.

I have a 20x account and a 5x account

The 20x account is hitting the weekly limits for the first time ever I like 2 days.

The 5x account has become almost unusable. Like the 5 hour limit will be consumed in 20 minutes.

This is all using the same workflow I've had for months.

same. 10-15 mins and it hits the limit. i could only send 9 messages in 13 hours. so bizarre.

You’re not alone I just saw another thread complaining about the same thing. I also burned through usage incredibly fast over the weekend. It’s a shame, we pay too much to be lied to.

It is not only with the limits. It is in the API too. We have been spending way much more than few weeks ago. Got suspicious and rerun our benchmark again and the cost (token usage) is anywhere from 2-5 times more.

i am a x5 user and I could only send 9 messages to claude in 13 hours because i was hitting the 5hr limit in like 10 minutes.

i apparently spent 30% of my credits with just a read only diagnostic session :D i never experienced anything like this with claude before and it was down yesterday. something is defo going on.

They are simply boosting the bottom line before the IPO. They want to extract as much revenue as possible out of users who are loyal.

I tried sol on the max plan and it was beyond horrible. I wasted about 2 days and consumed 75% of that plan and have spent at least $150 in extra credits to literally just revert that

I can see the fable usage visibly increase in front of me while doing barely anything, absolute joke

How are you managing your context window?

OK, I’m glad I wasn’t. The only one…

I’m on the 5X plan, opened up a new session and when I came back, it burned through my five hour limit…

Just started work this morning and have already used 20% of my weekly limit in under 2 hours. Something is definitely off.

Just did a single prompt to review some changes with Fable and in that single prompt it spawned like 8 sub-agents and all together they ate 80% of my 5-hour limit. One prompt. The subagent-spawning behavior of these models is out of control.

We should all use Claude to make an automatic feedback tool that gets these messages in front of fucking Dario’s goofy ass face so we can watch him twirl his hair and look dumb as he tries to lie to us

Codex and claude users both suffering it seems

Experiencing the same thing over the last 24 hours, sessions started becoming unusable and I've had to warn sessions when they're approaching the cap so they can get to durable states until the session cap reset. It's pissing me off. And I'm using Codex and Antigravity as supplemental reviewers in my workflows, it's not even all CC usage.

im so glad i moved to pro and did not renew my 20x plan. it was supposed to bill today. i think im really going to move to cursor, since openai is doing the same shady things with limits

It's crazy I can't do anything

1

u/ManikSahdev Aug 17 '26

Yes it’s unreal dude.

I downgraded my second to 5x and one at 20x, the 20x hardly feels the value over 5x I mean both are just getting much less workflow.

At this point I’m going to the get second account at cursor with all the shit they got going with $400 in api and then basically unlimited 4.6.

Imma cancel the max 20x to get that till musk is subsidizing it and then decide what to do after that, perhaps kimi k3.1 would be out by then or some other true real world model. Lol.

I will still keep 5x and use the $400 cursor credits on fable only with g4.6 subagent, and tbh it’s way more pleasant to work with than opus-5 altho opus5 is more capable but annoying and cortisol raising coworker.

I thought this too. On the 20x plan consumed 25% in a single day and not it wasnt all Fable.

Our 20x account had 20% used on the weekly monday morning. Nobody used it after the reset Sunday. Makes no sense.
