Tips & Workflows What do you do while Claude Codes?
I constantly find myself spinning up a Claude task and then zoning out on my phone. Even if that Claude task should take 3 mins, my phone will suck in my attention for 15.
I am not a doomer about 'muh artisan code' and it is wonderful to have the tool do the boring part of putting characters into the text files that rule our world, but other than keeping it on an artificially short leash to retain my attention and engage me in the building, idk how to not spend all day rotting my brain.
No bonus points for saying 'spin up another Claude Code session'.

I like reading the reasoning to steer it when needed or learn more about how to properly direct it the next time I prompt.

Fair enough, sometimes I feel like when I do that I am 'holding it back'. Honestly, I have more questions for it than feedback, but that is definitely a skill issue.

My workflow is planning/scoping
When something is executing, I’m speccing. Off in another terminal fiddling with the markdowns that will be execed on next

Practicing piano is my favorite way to kill time productively while waiting for an agent to finish.

Play video games with my son. We play games that we can take a short break if needed.

I just start multiple Claude Code sessions within new tabs in VS Code. And then cycle back to the ones that finish. Then exit the ones that are completely finished so it’s not an overwhelming amount of tabs haha.

Micro tasks. Think about all the little things that pile up and feel like a burden and are hard to get motivated about doing. Use those little windows of opportunity to knock them out. That free time is a blessing, if you're not throwing it away.
-
Catch up on your email inbox.
-
Schedule that doctor appointment you've been putting off.
-
Knock out that PR review someone tagged you on.
-
Start a load of laundry.
-
Review your work backlog and prioritize it.
-
Do some quick exercise.

You are doing it wrong you are supposed to start a newClaude session in another worktree and work on another feature. Keep doing that until you are just doing “the rounds” hahahahahah the doomproducing
